And most people dont understand that the quoted 600NM of torque is just peak torque. Those numbers fall off sharply for vast majority of diesels after 3k rpm (or even less). And the amount that it falls is just as important as the peak number. That will give you an idea of the driveability under full throttle conditions.

That 600nm is great for pulling or getting yourself out of sticky/steep/rocky situations. It will shine there.

    But it loses puff quickly.

Yes exactly. The LC200 is more akin to a locomotive/bulldozer. It will give you relentless torque at low revs and low speeds to haul or traverse over anything. But if you need to accelerate quickly, it doesn't have the top end that you get from more athletic turbodiesels like in the Tucson CRDi or X3 20d.

Closest affordable car I can compare it to would be the Everest/Ranger 3.2. You'd think a 200 hp 5-cylinder diesel would be a speed demon but it's really designed to haul heavy loads rather go for outright speed.

The difference is very noticeable.

Power to weight ratio is just 87 hp/ton. The 2.4L Montero makes 93 hp/ton.

Oh wow so heavy nga.hehe Parang biglang lumiit tingin ko sa 600NM published torque. I envy you sir jut! Parang you get to drive lots of cars/SUV's. And not just test drives... real road trips pa.hehe

I was able to traverse Tagaytay roads once with a friend who owns an LC200 and the steep inclines didnt seem to bother him going up kaya I had an impression that it's got lots of torque/power in real use. But as you said, may small window for the peak torque to kick in nga so i guess overtaking would be a different story.

Nagkataon lang bro that I get to drive different cars.

The LC200 really makes easy work of steep inclines. It's got very good torque from the moment boost kicks in until about 3500 rpm. It really feels effortless no matter how steep the incline is. But because it's heavy, it doesn't accelerate as quickly as it feels.

Torque is the feeling of getting pushed to your seat. But even with that torquey feel it doesn't mean it goes very fast, and vice versa. My Civic for example feels nowhere as torquey as most diesels but can accelerate faster to 100 kph than most of them.

351 ft-lb (475NM) baseline dyno, bitin talaga sa bigat ni LC.

Why I installed throttle controller? Night and day difference ng naka power mode , with and without throttle controller.

Regarding sa ecu remapping ng 1vd, hindi na siya masyado mausok, useless na damihan pa supply ng fuel, wala na din gain sa dyno, so balanced lang siya.

    After ecu remapping,
    462 ft-lb (626NM) wheel torque,

Sakto na sa weight niya [emoji4]

Very nice. I wonder how it will affect longevity? Thats why i kept my other LC stock. Do you have a dyno? Will dyno my chipped LC200 just to see how much it makes.

If your ecu programming is better and with less smoke i will switch to that.

I had my dyno runs at Scag automotive services.

I have tried different tuning chips before on other vehicles, gain is not as much as ecu remapping.

That’s why all my units now are ecu tuned.

also thinking if paparemap ko lc200 ko din dahil baka magkaroon ng problema sa makina in the long run.

Had my NP300 remap kay speedworks and I am very very happy with the performance. Mas gusto ko gamitin sa lc kasi mas responsive, regarding black smoke meron konti lang pag diniinan ng bigla.

I had the chance to drive a 2012 dubai version LC. Medyo mabigat nga sa sudden acceleration mas ramdam ko pa sipa ng gen 2 montero ko but gradual build up ng speed ang LC, sisiw ang pass 200 kph [emoji23].

Dubai and local LC same ba aircon system? Because when we had the Dubai LC version last summer kahit tirik yung araw waiting at the parking grabe lamig ng aircon. Umuusok yung hangin lumalabas sa blower sa sobra lamig.
