to all those who were in line for a lc200, your friendly sr may be calling you now because the higher end cars are projected to have lower prices for 2018 with the new excise tax being approved by the bicameral conference.

existing excise tax levies 60% excise tax on cars priced 2.1 m up.

whereas the new excise tax effective 2018 levies a 20% excise tax on cars priced from 1M-4M and anything in excess of 4m, excise tax is 50% which is still less than the 60% being paid now.

anyone care to confirm if the above is correct or not?

Not sure po, dun lang ako naglalakad araw-araw. Napansin ko lang na biglang dumami yung display nilang LC200 netong December after mag-agree ng bicam on the vehicular excise tax. Wala pang mga plaka at wala din akong nakikitang conduction sticker sa likuran.

Nakakalaway mga display nila, from Ferrari to Audi R8 to a Chevy Corvette.

Most probably bababa, kung gaano kalaki mahirap tukuyin kasi di natin alam magkano ang net retail price ng LC ngayon. If my guess is right and Toyota won't take advantage of the prestige and demand for LC, price decrease could be 300-400K (assuming 20% toyota profit, 12% vat, and 20% dealer profit).

May chance kasi na even if bumaba ang excise tax, given na malakas ang demand sa LC and buyers of these cars are not that price sensitive, pwedeng di pa rin nila ibaba yung presyo masyado para yung portion ng dating excise tax ay pumasok sa Toyota as profit.

A lot of LC200 owners were feeling salty when somebody posted the updated Toyota pricelist on the LC owners fb group. They even went to the extent of the bashing the one who posted.

Yeah i saw that. That wasnt right to do. Bashing the guy for posting thr new pricing.

Personally i dont care. 4.65m (now) vs 4.995m (when i bought mine) doesnt warrant such bitterness. Unless you got hoodwinked by the dealer or grey market. In fact, its an opportunity to even out your costs (i.e. time to buy again hahaha). Kidding!
