What's the difference between the grey market version and the dealer version? What made u glad to get the dealer version?

The grey market models come in so many different flavors. But for the vast majority of them:

1) they have the older gauge cluster design
2) they dont have the 4x4 crawl mode selector (i.e. sand, mud, mogul, gravel, etc). You can check this by looking at the transmission panel and its missing a lot of buttons and knobs.
3. They dont have the ventilated front seats
4. Dont have the digital 4 zone climate controls in the 2nd row (they have a manual version)
5. The steering wheels dont have buttons on the right side (this is true for those without the new gauge cluster)

What they do have that the local versions dont have are:

1. Body kits (these cost 20k in banawe)
2. 20" mags and tires
3. Dvd monitors in the headrests (can buy these for 6k each in Lazada )
4. Extra fuel tank
5. Android headunit (either 9 inch or 12 inch)

The local versions have a 3 yr warranty. The grey market versions dont have a warranty. The grey market versions are at least 500k more expensive than the local versions because there is availability. Local ones .....the waiting line is like thousands long.

There are a few grey market units that have all the features of the local models and add other stuff like 360 degree cameras, ride height adjustment, etc. However these go for more than 6m. At that price id just get a Lexus 450d or Lexus 570 instead.

Yes the local premium version has memory seats , power adjustable steering column, power sunroof.

I was asking a car dealership why the premium sedans (5 series and E Class) dont sell as much anymore. He said its because of the landcruiser. Similar pricing, similar luxury , similar presence but vast difference in capability, longevity and resale value.

First thing is add a rearview or 360 degree camera..tons on landcruiser philippines FB page. I added a 360 camera.

Im not too hot on the dubai kits. They lower the approach and departure angles and your clearance for curbs is much less.

Mags are a different story

And change that god awful headunit. For a 5m peso car thats the worst headunit ever. Tons of choices on the fb page as well. I went the android Joying 10.1 inch route. Others like the bigger ones that look like a Tesla screen (replaces the aircon controls as well).

unfortunately i only got the standard and black only. no premium avail. but what can i do, beggars cant be choosers. considering di ako nagpareserve ill be getting a unit, before december pa.. re the head unit di ba mavoid warranty? also yung subsob issue, did you replace shocks?

Changing the headunit is fine. I changed mine and brought in one of my LC200s for a warranty issue (the front left aircon wasnt working). They fixed it no issue whatsoever.

As for the subsob issue you can change the rear springs (not shocks) for about 20k. I didnt bother to change mine. Make sure the seller knows how to install it as the KDSS system is complex. Helps with the departure angles i guess.

Dont worry about the standard or premium. Its still a beast.

Externally, if you want the premium look, just get the front bunper over rider (10k) and side sticker graphics (15k) and the printle hook in the rear.
