Hi Guys,
I wanted to buy a new Toyota Innova D4D but I'm little bit confused between the manual and automatic variants. Can you guys give me some info regarding the performance, power, comforts between the two? Thank you.

M/T if hindi ka lagi sa traffic, pero kung ma-traffic sa inyo, much better off with AT ka na lang. Maintenance and FC wise, much better ang MT. READ this thread: http://tsikot.com/forums/car-compari...-t-vs-t-35699/
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
Depends on your preference.
If you can live through MM by driving a stick, then by all means get one. However, if you cant, then get the A/T.
Pakiramdaman lang yan eh.

For highway drive i believe the AT has the adventage over the MT in terms of FC since since the last gear of the AT is better. You can run faster at a lower rpm.
In yerms of the first 2 gears of the AT innova, im quiye surprised with the good gearing set done by toyota compared to other brands. Its like driving a manual coz it shift gears below 2000rpm on a normal drive.
The additional 60Nm for the AT is to compensate the power loss of transmitting the power to its wheel and comparing it with the manual i can say both have the same feel of torque in acceleration.
Considering the model 2KD-FTV (Innova G):
auto has higher torque than stick (260Nm vs. 200Nm) means auto accelerates quickly
auto curb wt. is greater than stick (1,670kg. vs. 1,655kg.) means auto is heavier
therefore, it depends on the driver's skill.
actually, it's 50/50 since both auto and stick has the same PS.
Traffic - Traffic, I believe the A/T will return better results due to higher Torque figures.![]()
btw, where is the additional 60Nm of torque coming from? is this from the engine tuned differently or this is because of the a/t system itself?
am just thinking, if its from the engine then is it possible to re-tune the engine mated with m/t to get that additional torque?
I have this issue with gate type matic trannies. Last week while travelling along roxas my wifes bag accidentally landed on the lever while we are travelling close to 100kph. From 4th gear or "D" it shifted "3". buti nalang mabagal lang takbo
From Drive to Neutral, no problem at all. But from Drive to 3, if it is running at high speed definitely there will be some damages both in the engine and tranny
Its mandatory to place a child at the back seat with a car seat if possible for safety purposes
Drive to neutral basically just disconnects the driveshaft. Much like a manual shifting from a certain gear to neutral, or just plain letting go of the throttle with matic tranny at higher speeds. Drive to 3 wala namang problema kung normal cruising speed lang naman. Our Revo diesel can run up to 80km/h using 3rd gear * 4000rpm. 5 speed tranny yan so even narrower spacing of gears. So its safe to assume that your engine will not blow up if you run 3rd gear at 100km/h with a 4 speed tranny. Just don't let that happen on a top speed run.![]()
Lately nakapag try ako ng matic na innova d4d. And yes its more fun to drive the manual yet more relaxing to drive the matic. Both 2.5 L engines.
