Hi! I need help here guys. I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand car. I already found one that i really like so i checked its LTO papers, OR/CR, to be sure. Upon seeing the papers, i saw some problems (in my opinion). The car w/c i plan to buy is color blue, but that is not its original color. the original color of the car is white. Based on its history/records at LTO Pasig, all of its papers there still stated that the car is color white. But all the records there only show the papers of the 1st and 2nd owners. the person(3rd owner) who currently owns the car has a registered or/cr of the car which already states the car is now color blue. That's what makes me confused. The owner of the car is sure that his papers are real and truly registered at the LTO. Even the LTO text hotline says that the car is color blue. But i find it strange that why arent there no records/papers in LTO Pasig of the current owner, and the fact that the car is already blue? I wanna know how is that possible? I just fear that if ever i buy the car, and i get apprehended by the Highway Patrol, yes i have the papers or OR/CR to prove that the car was changed to blue already, but how about if they check its records/history in LTO Pasig and there are no papers there that says the car is blue already and not white anymore? Pls help me. Thanks!

When in doubt about used cars, best to walk away and look elsewhere. There is always another car just as good or even better than the one you just saw with it's documents in proper order.

yes, when in doubt, walk away. it is simply not worth it, to buy your dream pre-owned car and expect to be accosted by every other uniformed person you see on the street.
but if you really want it, why not go to the LTO and ask why.. for all you know, the document on change color is on file and all legitimate..
also, i would like to know why the color was changed..
i have had experience on this.. incomplete papers.. it turned out to be all legitimate, but i had to learn the hard way, because i was the one who walked the papers. next time, i promised myself, i would want the seller to walk the papers, if he wants me to buy his car. even the temptation of a juicy low price will not make me walk these papers again.

Maipapayo ko lang ay wag mag madali sa pagbili ng second hand car. Take your time to investigate sa LTO kung gusto mo talaga makasiguro. Pero kung may gray areas pa rin (as in questionable documents) just walk away because it's not worth it sa pinaghirapan mong pera. Sa akin nung nakita ko sa OR/CR iba yung color di ko tinigilan yung owner na ipaayos nya muna papeles bago ko binili.

on my part, as you have stated that original naman ang OR/CR which states the color is blue, no more hassle iyan. Neglect na iyan ng LTO kung hindi nila na update ang kanilang records. Anyway, tingnan mp muna sa CR kung sa-an branch ng LTO naka rehistro iyan. Doon ka mag inquire.

I need tips on 2nd hand car buying!
