just don't drive at any given speed for a prolonged period of time. easy on the brakes especially during the first 300kms. Ive read somewhere that its ok to rev it high once in a while to allow for better sealing of the valve seats.

    Peace!
Your manual is your best info. Read it and follow manufacturers recommendation. Good luck w/ your new car.

Mayroong nag rerecomend to do a hard break in para mag seal mabuti ang mga valves. Karamihan nag sasabi na follow the manual.

naiinis nga ako sa mga ganun. minsan na "break" nila yung car kaka break in tapos reretokehin sa casa and then sell it to the unsuspecting buyer

    Manual requires you:

not to accelerate too hard and go too fast for the first 1000km.
    not to brake too hard.
not to stay on a particular gear for a prolonged time. Anyway, you really shouldn't.

Manual did NOT explicitly state that:

you can't go faster than 100km/h. I drove dad's Innova up to 140km/h on the day we picked it up.
you can't reach a particular engine speed. But I recommend that you do not rev the engine too high in normal conditions.

Kung walang plans mag out of town, labas mo na ng NLEX, test it at 80-120kph in short intervals. Observe the breaks, suspensions, steering etc. para magka-alaman agad prior to first PMS.

Pero sa totoo lang tapos na break in nyan... Just be aware of the would be defects / problems that may show up. mas maaga mas mabuti.

tinanong ko na yan nung nag plant visit kami sa TMP last Oct... ang sabi ng VP for Technical Dept. eh kailangan pa rin i break in gaya ng nakasaad sa manual... sa planta daw ay iniiwasan nilang itakbo ang oto para di tumaas ang odometer... if i remember correctly, inaabot lang ng mga less than 20km ang odometer sa paglipat lipat ng bay sa loob ng planta... tumataas lang ito pag idedeliver na dahil nga itinatakbo ito sa SLEX.
