may balak pa kayang lagyan ng ABS ang hilux this model year? I''m planning to buy a pickup na Crdi at meron at least an ABS. Isuzu still does'nt have Crdi locally pero may ABS ang Dmax nila.

I've had a car early in my times without ABS but I'm curious, it is a big difference for a big vehicle like the Hilux not to have ABS/EBD? In terms of On-road and esp. for Off-road? I know we don't as wide roads(like freeways) and drive as fast as people in the US, and even at those speeds we don't have bad weather(like snow) to necessitate the need of ABS. Pag umuulan ng malakas sa atin, we tend to slow down unlike in other countries an bibilis pa rin nila because of the speed limits...
nye di pala crdi ang dmax..
well kaya cguro walang ABS and hilux to keep the price down, innova too
That, and market Toyota Phil market research may have found out that Philippine buyers a) don't know, b) don't want, or c) don't care...Originally Posted by BlueBimmer

pero heck, if the hilux low price stems from the IMV cross-sharing parts with fortuner and innova, then mura na lang maglagay ABS for toyota.
which suprises me. this may or may not be a good comparison...
when we got out 1998 mazda familia 323 GLXi a/t, it had a/t, driver's airbag, abs already. a comparable model from other brands (which cost way more) did not have all of those features or had all but way higher.
Para kang nag-ice skating dun pag basa ang kalye. natelevise pa ata to this year lang....
sana maging available ang ABS as an option or better yet standard na talaga...
mukhang ford ranger na din, ABS and EBD, kung swak sa budgetOriginally Posted by RedHorse

yung bagong triton/l200/strada ok kaya yun?
dba pareho sila makina ng alterra yung D-Max???....what i know gen3 Crdi diesel nga engine nun e...
let's wait for some updates sa hilux... Toyota likes paisa-isang upgrades yearly sa mga kotse nila.
one thing is for sure kung bakit walang ABS from start, to keep cost down.
basti, hindi sila pareho... alam ko evolution ng 2.5 diesel engine sa xwind ang makina ng d-max... yun sa alterra, yun yung current iteq crdi... pero sa thailand meron sila CRDI Iteq DMAX...
oops posted on the wrong thread

Hindi pa CRDI ang DMAX. Walang kwenta talaga ang mga car manufacturers natin. Imbis na itaas ang standards ng safety features...parang tumatanda ng paurong. But then again, maybe theyre just catering to low budget clients. Pero justifiable ba ito lalu na when their lives are at stake?
As for the effectiveness of ABS:
Like previously stated, ABS does work wonders in the rain, as it allows you to stay in control of the vehicle and shortens braking distances dramatically.
But on a dry surface, flat-out stomp on the pedal panic stops are actually shorter than ABS assisted stops. ABS still gives you more control, but in a big, tall vehicle, swerving from an accident might cause more danger, unless it's equipped with ESC. Many new SUVs in the US have ESC in order to pass anti-roll-over safety tests.
On gravel and dirt, things get interesting. Many ABS systems can't "read" gravel correctly, and panic stops are also shorter in these conditions.
In the end, for a truck, on the road, ABS is still a good idea, but for a working truck, it's not a necessity unless it spends a lot of time on the highway.
But then, who actually buys the Hilux for work, nowadays?![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
for a tropical country like ours... ABS works wonders... it has saved my butt a couple of times already.
