Help! Toyota liteace 1991 can hardly climb steeped hills!

Hello everyone! I'm just new here. I need help...

We just recently bought toyota liteace 1991. ang problema ay hirap itong umakyat pag matarik? what seems to be the problem? anong dapat gawin?

probably sliding clutch, have it checked.
kapag ito nga ang makita, kailangan palitan ang clutch disc, clutch plate and release bearing. more or less P4k ang magagasta using japan replacement brand; more or less P10k kapag oem ang ikakabit.

have the gear oil checked too.
papalitan mo na rin kapag kulay kalawang na gear oil ng liteace mo.
mga 3 to 4 liters siguro laman nyan. available sa mga gas stations with service bays yan.

Ano ba driving conditions? Kargado at naka aircon ba?
Mahihirapan talaga yan pag masyado matarik.
Lumalakas ba hatak pag pinatay aircon?

Kung clutch problem, dapat pansin mo din yan kahit hindi paakyat.
Nararamdaman din yan sa mga biglang arangkada.

I-suggest, have the engine completely tuned up first.
Kung di nyo pa nagawa to.
Spark plugs, distributor, karburador.
You'll be surprised ang laki ng epekto sa hatak pag mali ang "advance" setting sa distributor.

hirap talaga sa akyatan yang lite-ace.
Personal ko nakita na ang isang brand new Lite-ace kailangan nyang magbwelo mula sa dulo ng drive way para lang maka akyat sa matarik na basement parking. Driver lang ang sakay nyan. Paano pa kung puno ng sakay. Marami rin ang tirik/overheat problem dati. Sablay ang toyota sa van na ito.

Yes tune up muna then maybe clutch overhaul.

How steep is the hill?

Our 2.0 Vanette couldn't climb some hills in Tagaytay without a running start... even some steep city parking ramps had to be taken at full tilt in first gear...

The Liteace is worse in every way... except, perhaps, in fuel economy... still... don't expect much from a carbureted 1.6 liter van, especially with a full load.

I concur with this suggestion. Owner din ang family namin ng 1991 model liteace. Palagi din kami nagpapa tune up at palit ng spark plugs para gumanda ang hatak.

Hi Firelady,

97' model liteace owner here. I've tried climbing fully loaded sa tagaytay at di nman hirap. Nasa pagaalaga at condition ng makina rin kce.. (IMO)
here are the things i do to make sure ok ang condition ng engine ko:

1. Change oil every 5k miles (sometimes before mag 5k or pwede din every 3months)

2. Make sure carburator ay well maintained ( every 5k-10k miles linis nung akin)

3. Make sure Fuel and air filter ay malinis (kung kailangan ng palitan palitan)

4. I used titanium spark plugs and high tension wires

5. Every 6 or 12 months radiator overhaul maintenance (for me)

Ilan lang yan sa mga maintenance check list ko to make sure na ok ang takbo ng ride ko

Actually, mas enjoy ko gamitin ang liteace kesa kotse. bukod sa kita mo lahat pag nagda-drive ka, masarap din pag passenger ka lang na nakaupo sa likod. i feel relaxed. naitataas mga paa eh. hehe.

kayang kaya 'yan ng well-maintained liteace. i've done very steep inclines with a full load. once, it was steep enough for my friend's vios e to slip occasionally (yup, vios is fwd, but it's that steep). if you've driven to palm beach in bo. hugom batangas, after bo. laiya, then you know what i mean. i guess the 185/70-13 tires helped.

kaya iyan basta well maintained. pero malamang may fault na rin ang sliding clutch sigurado. but aside from that..

my suggestions would be a full tune up.

change oil
spark plugs
fuel filter
clean carb
change carb air filter
