rather interesting video comparison test... the Freelander is tested against other cute utes (i think this is the australian market) on-road (braking, slalom -- although body roll lang yung criterion sa slalom) and off-road (articulation/traction control effectiveness, hill start, approach angles...). in case you were curious of how the RAV4 and CR-V stack up off-road, this seems like a credible answer.

the CR-V and RAV4 could barely make it down a rutted trail (the CR-V in particular was struggling) and utterly fail miserably on a grassy hill start. and without low range (or the Freelander's HDC), they have a tough time in the controlled hill descent test
