Is it really a rebadged Daewoo?

The S3X(Captiva) was developed by GM-Daewoo mainly for Europe and Korea/Asia(main export market is Europe). But its its based on GM's American Theta platform which is used by the Chevy Equinox, Saturn Vue and Pontiac *******.
This is the first new GM-Daewoo model to use a GM developed architecture.

Too bad... the name of the production version is Chevrolet Captiva. S3X is the concept SUV's name.

It will be equipped with common rail diesel engine.

Other options(gasoline engines): a 142hp 2.4 liter inline-4, and a 225hp 3.2 liter Alloytec V6.

The vehicles look very attractive but let us cross our fingers that the S3X is not engineered in the same manner as the infamous OPTRA.

The Chevy Captiva(S3X) which is a crossover SUV the size of a LWB Rav4 does not compete with the larger Nissan Patrol, Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Explorer or Expedition...
Thats what the Chevy Trailblazer EXT and Chevy Tahoe are for.

The Chevy Captiva is more of a Rav4 competitor, making the Fortuner its in-direct competitor, since they are both 7-seaters but are in different segments.
The Captiva is a more road oriented crossover SUV while the Fortuner is a more rugged SUV.

According to C! magazine, Chevy Captiva will be sold only in Europe 2WD or 4WD, 5 or 7 seater option.
Engine option: 2.0 150hp CRD engine or 2.4 4cyl or 3.2 V6.

A guy from GM dealership said it will be launch in the RP 1st Q next year and will be introduced at P 1.1 M for the basic unit. Kaya lang 5 seater lang yata and not sure if third row will be an option.
