August 13th, 2013 03:12 PM #23Locally, Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation will only bring in one variant, and it gets a 4x4 drivetrain along with a big 4.0 liter VVT-i V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Because it comes with a 4.0 liter engine and is manufactured at the Hino plant in Tokyo, the FJ Cruiser qualifies for the JPEPA trade agreement. To put the FJ's pricing in perspective, the non-JPEPA qualified RAV4 4x4 (with the 2.5 liter engine) retails for PhP 1,963,000.
Thanks to JPEPA, the 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser will have a suggested retail price of PhP 1,798,000 when it officially goes on sale in October.

Nice SUV that is priced nicely.
But
It appears to be devoid of practicality
so
Its more for fun, show and more as a toy (for those who can and can't afford it) than anything.

August 14th, 2013 08:43 AM #25but it has a good mileage 17/22 per gallon or 8km per liter not bad plus the automatic version is the more fuel efficient than the manual
our previa and apv does the same mileage
as to practicality, your dead on... except when your going up to Baguio or tagaytay every now and then it would be a good hill climber just dont carry to much luggage(mukhang maliit lang yung baggage compartment)
