carlo, dba nauna ang Altis bago ang Vios?
hmmmm...here's an interesting article. this could be the reason of the delay. you think the next corolla will be powered by a boxer engine?![]()
Toyota plans to outsource the full redesign of a "sporty subcompact" to Subaru. The move comes as the world's second-largest auto maker faces severe personnel shortages amid rapid expansion of its business, the Nihon Keizai business daily reported. The deal would also allow Subaru's parent company Fuji Heavy, now owned 8.7 percent by Toyota, to make better use of resources after it dissolved its capital ties with General Motors Corp last month, the report said. A Toyota spokeswoman said Toyota and Fuji Heavy are exploring cooperation in development and production, but added that no details had been decided yet.
Also, historically, nauuna naman lagi yung higher end linalabas sa market then the low end then the middle...
Tignan nyo mga year gaps ng mga lumang cars.
I guess Sentra isn't a threat to Toyota and Honda kaya anything that the Sentra may do better, doesn't necessarily mean that Toyota and Honda will follow.
Yung new camry I've seen sa US. Verrry nice!![]()
Nauna ang Altis (2001) sa Vios (july 2003). Pero since madedelay (according to the article), baka mauna yung Vios dito (Yaris sedan).Originally Posted by basti08

This body shape/model has been for sale since 2001.. yikes 6years!?
6 is just about average sa car industry with facelifts in between...
Kesa naman Mitsubishi, binebenta pa L300, Montero Sport, Fieldmaster Pajero hanggang ngayon hehe... Yung Montero Sport 1996 pa yun linabas...
Yeah! It is a civic slayer for the past 5 years!Originally Posted by bougartt

This is the car business, anything can happen. Nissan was just a wallflower in the U.S. up until a few years ago when they introduced bold new products that catered to a younger generation of buyers.Originally Posted by Driv3er
The success of the Xterra has also prompted other carmakers (e.g. Toyota and its FJ Cruiser) to produce their own inexpensive truck-based SUV's (not cute utes).
Locally, the Sentra has been the innovator of the market. Power windows, power steering, power locks (speed sensing at that), computer controlled engines, airbags, ABS, rear seatbelts, etc. were virtually unheard of in the compact segment during the early 90's until Nissan made them standard equipment while still maintaining competitive prices. Now almost everyone has 'em. I'm not Sentra fanboy, but I'm not a fan of what's 'HOT' either as they tend to become faddish and eventually fizzle out.

Going back to the Corolla, take into account guys that the 2008 they're pertaining to is likely the 2008 model year, which isn't the same as the actual 2008. For instance, the EK Civic was introduced here in late 95 but considered as 96 models. Some other cars are even considered 07 models even if they were launched in mid 06.
Well, another car that has delayed its launch is the Sentra. Normally, it's introduced before the Civic, but it isn't the case now. However, the Latio will soon be sold to the US but still with the Sentra name.
As for the Vios, the Yaris sedan in the US is actually the same small 4-door we have here. If you chance upon a picture of this, cover the front and rear ends with your hands and you'll see the same genes. Although the hatchback model has been recently replaced, the sedan should be good for at least 1 1/2 years more.
tama. yung co-worker ko bumili ng Type-S Corolla $700 under invoice price.Originally Posted by OTEP

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0922085.htmlOne of every 200 registered 1999 Acura Integras was stolen last year, making it the most stolen car in America. Integras from model years 1995 through 1998 took four of the other top 9 positions on the list. The 1994, 2000 and 2001 Integra models also make the top 20 list. The list ranks vehicles by the percentage of registered vehicles stolen, rather than by gross number of thefts.
The popularity of different Integra models with thieves made Acura the most stolen make of 2004, followed by Hummer, Land Rover, Daewoo and Honda.
baka Corolla na ang susunod na most stolen, hehe
In US manufacturer's term, October 2007 nila introduce ang 2008 model? Eh malapit na pala, akala ko pa naman 2008 introduction for a 2009 model year.Toyota will not change the design of its Corolla, the world's best-selling small car, until 2008
