converted lc80 questions

Anyone who has detailed information on how they do the conversion (steering assembly to be specific)? I'm just curious because I overheard (tsismoso ako minsan ) two blokes arguing. One says parang conversion daw ng Bighorn, meaning that they bolt an original LHD steering box of an LC80, the other says that they get a steering box of a hi-lux and do some cutting. Which is true or are both of them wrong? Yung LC80 ni LC80 ay converted di ba, paano ginawa? Please enlighten me. Thank you! :D

Marami pong paraan ng conversion. There is no magic formula. It varies from shop to shop.

kung re-circulating ball ang steering then what you do is transfer the steering gearbox sa left and use pitman arm na pang left. Also better kung original na center link. Of course transfer the whole steering column to the left.

At dahil medyo mahal ang centerlink, gawin mo na lang yung el cheapo center link trick ni Ungas. Kaso hindi ko alam ang details. hehehe.

Basta pinasok sa Toyota iyon kaya may Toyota dealer sticker sa likod. Pati ata conduction nilagyan. hehehe.

usually kung gusto mo orig. palit centerlink ng LHD tapos gearbox. isama mo na idler arm. ang mga nadidisgrasya kasi dito sa atin eh nag titipid ayaw bumili ng centerlink cut and weld na lang. pag natanggal direcho sa impyerno.

Nung bumigay yung steering ng LC70 ng classmate ko muntik na nga siya dumiretso sa kabilang buhay. hehehe.

dont know if may idler arm ang lc 80, most straight axle fronts have only the pitman arm that connects to the drag link.

ungas, kinonvert bo ba drag link mo to accept replacement tie rods lang. nice idea.
