how about just using the whole engine from the hilux rather than fitting a turbo from a hilux to a 3B?
Mas malakas ang 3B(3400cc diesel) kesa 3L(2800cc diesel)

i dont think LC40s are made to run 100kph above or highway use
its usefulness can be more appreciated on rural areas, unpaved road.

definitely, newer engines with 6 cyclinders like the H engines are better.

what do you mean mas malakas sir? attaining max power at lower revs?

    3B BHP is 93 at 3500 (3431cc)
    3L BHP is 90 at 4000 (2779cc)

if you add a turbo on the 3B, if possible and practicable, how many HPs will you gain kaya?

meaning i'm safe to assume that the cabin light for the orig LHD na 40 is in the driver's (left) side?

may butas kasi and the tinsmith couldn't figure out what the hole is for.

    Thanks again...

may pros and cons ang 24 and 12 volts.

im running 24 volts on my BJ41 and i dont find it magastos. actually, i have not change the batteries, going two years na sila. just take good care of the batteries and the charging system.

i think you will have to change all the bulbs to 12volts.

Hello, just saw this group at sobrang informative.

I have been looking for a BJ40 mga half a year na. What I wanted to use it for was 1) to haul my bicycles when I go mountain biking - sobrang gasgas na kasi yung kotse ko sa pag-kabit ng bike rack sa trunk; 2) to take it a bit beyond the trailheads when we go hiking in the mountain province and other hiking areas; and 3) to use as a daily commute. My office is 15-20 minutes from the house, not much traffic, but during the rainy season, siguradong madami akong bahang dadaanan. And in my job, I have to be in the office rain, storm, earthquake or shine!

In the past months, I've seen 2 or 3 in various conditions. My original budget was 80-100K para sa luma, ang I was planning to restore it slowly. I think I'm ready to commit to an LC, I just wanted to ask some tips from you guys for what I should look out for.

I might test-drive it this weekend.. pero 1st time lang ako magda-drive ng diesel, so di ko rin naman talaga alam kung ano ang pakiramdam ng proper drive! Any tips and advice will be much appreciated! Salamat po!

here's some lessons learned from my own experience in restoring my 40:

    - make sure that all the components for the 4x4 system are present and working - transmission, transfer case, propeller shafts, axles, locking hubs - mahal ang mga parts na ito if you buy them piece by piece. also, it will be a plus if the fron axles have disc brakes on them. converting the front brakes from drum to disc will set you back at least 20k.

    - make sure that the engine is well maintained. check for the condition of the following: starter, injection pump, water pump and alternator.

    - check the condition of the steering components. mahal din ang mga tie rod ends. it'll be a plus if the LC40 is equipped with power steering, especially if you're planning on big tires.

    - check for suspension. check the condition of the shocks, leaf springs and shackles.

    - then check for the rest of the accesories such as lights, wipers, weather strips, door locks, etc.

    hope this helps sir.

    May problema ata ako...

Bale ganito yung t-case ko (i think)
    (2H - Neutral - 4L)
