December 21st, 2007 05:45 PM #2Hhmmmm... i didnt encounter such problem before and yung dahilan ay dahil iba-iba brand na gamit ng brake fluid..... kadalasan, di lang nalilinisan kaya nasisira...
Im not sure.... pero alam ko na sa brake performance and effect...
di ko na idedetalye... pero kahit anong brand basta kailangan kung anong specified ng manufacturer (dot 3 or dot 4) yun ang gagawin mo.... Bat mo ba giyan ng gasolina ang taong humihingi ng tubig????
Mas alam ng manufacturers kung anong dapat ilalagay sa ginawa nila......

January 2nd, 2008 09:35 PM #3As long as you use the same type of brake fluid you should be ok. They are manufactured to meet or exceed a standard. However, some brands may be better than others. I think, the higher the boiling point the better.
There are 3 types of brake fluid. DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5. Dot 3 and 4 are supposed to be interchangable. But If your brake cap says use DOT 3 only then best to stick with that. DOT 5 is totally different and may damage brake systems designed for DOT 3 or 4.Last edited by userfriendly; January 2nd, 2008 at 09:38 PM.
