Ano naman cons (i.e., service and parts support, etc) nito compared to the Vios 1.3E A/T, hy-n-dry?
'can't comment much on the Vios 1.3.. but, i won't buy one-- first, i don't like the center display.. i always believed displays should be where they're supposed to be.. bigger engine on Lancer (1.6 compared to 1.3).. economy? again i've always seen bigger engines having better consumption.. as an example i've had in the distant past a 1.4 sentra box type and it consumes a lot.. i guess due to smaller engine driving a heavier body..

cons? i've owned several lancers and galants in the past and only thing i've modded are the shocks.. i like the ride of nissans (beefier bounce) and that's why i always try to duplicate that..

some are saying if you abuse the cvt it is likely to overheat.. same on other a/t cars.. besides i don't think anyone in his right mind would abuse something bought with hard earned cash.. if you want to do this of course you could upgrade both engine and tranny..

lastly, i'm in the market now also after getting insurance money from my flooded Lancer GLS.. so, in short, i still have to see a model at the same price level that could give me the same specs.. i got a '10 altis early january, and, while i like the looks and amenities, i find the shocks need a little stiffer stance.. right now i'm eyeing on the Strada in the 4x4 flavor.. pang baha kung maulit uli si Ondoy.. otherwise, i'd settle on the Lancer GLS if i wanted to have some spare cash or buy the ex model..

ayusan mo na lang yang Lancer with body kits.. di ka magsisi dyan.. malakas mga engine ng mitsubishi and that particular engine has seen a lot of action in the market.. look at the strada-- mit just upgraded the proven 4d56 engine with turbo and now it's selling like hotcake..

    good luck and enjoy..

Kung daily driver yung kotse at madalas ikaw lang at laptop ang nakasakay, at pangmatagalan yung ownership good idea yang Vios A/T. You always have to take into consideration maintenance costs and fuel efficiency, and mas fuel efficient ang A/T sa city driving in bumper to bumper traffic.

I can now say it's a good buy for me. The choices boiled down to three: Vios 1.3E AT, Chevy Aveo 1.4AT and City 1.3S.

In the end, I chose this:

Yun nga lang, I can't help but feel like a Taxi driver when driving :D

I'll answer for anonemus. Only 1.5G variant has optitron. 1.3 variants have analogue gauges.

    Thanks, number001.

Also because all-black yung interior, like most taxis. Kulang sa bling, unlike the new 2011 Ford Fiesta interior

Hey, as long as you keep it detailed and clean, it will never look and feel like a Taxi (take it from a white Altis owner.. hehe).

Although the initial spy photos include an interior shot of a Fiesta 1.4 A/T, the cheapest automatic Fiesta to be officially launched here is the P766K Trend 1.6 Powershift which has a 120hp engine and a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. Its P46K more expensive than the Vios 1.3 E A/T.

Visit Vios Club Philippines forum and know how to maintain at customized your car. For a 1.3 car malakas ang vios sir compared sa iba. Yung paakyat like Baguio, Tagaytay kahit sa Mt. Samat which is one hell of a climb dahil may mga hairpin curves at may portion na matarik talaga eh kayang kaya sir. Good buy yan sir. Remember to visit the clubs site sir for more ideas.

    popped hood

For 46K, I do believe the added price is well worth the 1.6 Powershift compared to the 1.3E A/T based on paper specs. And to those who will buy this on installment, di na mapapansin yung 46K ata...

I'm already a regular visitor of VCP, sir Nell, and I'm learning a lot there! I do believe this 1.3E A/T is still a good buy...but somehow I'm thinking that this incoming 2011 Fiesta 1.6 Powershift might prove to be a better buy?

I like the color of your Vios, pareho tayo. Hehe

Gusto ko din yung new "all black" interior ngayon, luxury ang feeling, ang yung steering wheel astig ang design.

OEM Fog Lights nalang kulang niyan at Osram Night Breaker or Philips X-Treme Power bulbs for headlights

Nasa to-buy list ko na nga yung foglamps and HID bulbs and I'll definitely check out Osram and Philips!

Isa pa rin madaya sa 1.3E Vios eh walang Aux-In unlike in the G and J models. Hahay.

Ano kamo?

Believe me. Been there, done that.

Halogens lang sa Headlights. Pero yung Fog lights mo pwede gawin HID. Basta yung galing Casa yung Fog lights (Valeo Brand)

    Eto yung Osram Night Breaker

Eto naman yung Philips X-Treme Power

Basta H4 hanapin mo for your headlights. Wag HID.

I'd still go for the vios over the fiesta sir.

    * Starex -- Ay, thank you sir! Noob pa kasi sa mga mods and am just starting to learn about car parts! Can I buy either Osram or Philips halogen bulbs at pa install ko sa casa during its 1K or 5K PMS? Kung sa labas naman, will this void my warranty?

    * Nell-- masaya naman kami ng family sa Vios na kabibili lang namin and at this point I trust the Toyota dealer more rather than the Ford dealer here in Davao. Sana nga lang the 3rd Gen Vios (due in 2013?) will still provide better value than its competitors...

    Pag HID, ayun void yan.

We're using Osram All-weathers on our 2007 Vios (with 3M medium and dark tints).

+ 1 on getting fog lamps.

We got our Vios (1.3 AT 2010) from Toyota Cubao for 690K ... it came with the usual plethora of cheap freebies ... and a sales rep that leaves NOTHING to be desired.

BUT ... the car is performing up to expectations. It has been to Baguio and La Trinidad twice already. Once passing Kennon and the other Marcos, came thru with flying colors. As my wife's daily drive, its flawless.

One thing I noticed though is sometimes it has the tendency to "hunt" for gears. It's zippy on the freeway, if not for the skinny tyres .. And its simple ... there's beauty in simplicity.

For a person used to driving cars of a "different breed" ... this little guy gets my thumbs-up ..

Spot-on assessment, sir! The 690K is cash price, no?
