August 2nd, 2010 05:20 PM #1help po mga ka tsikot.
background lang, yung kotse namin is altis e 2003 matic. flooded po. sa wakas nakuha na namim lahat ng parts na kailangan for restoration. all brand new from toyota. pero yung shop na gumawa hindi sa toyota. nalinis na lahat ng putik saka na try na namin paandarin last week. umandar naman kaya lang may palya sa may spark plug number 1. bago naman lahat ng spark plugs saka nag switch na kami ng igniter. oks naman lahat. na try na namin yung ecu sa ibang latis oks naman. umaandar ng walang problema. ngayon yung spark plugs 2 and 4 naman ang hindi umaandar. nag start lang ito after na ibaba yung cylinder head and linisin lahat yung mga pistons. ngayon ayaw na mag start. pag testing ng electrician, walang power or spark sa 2 and 4. may nagsabi baka yung timing sa camshat saka yung sa crank case. sabi ng mechanic ok naman yung timing.
may naka encounter naba sa ganitong problem? help naman....thanks.

I am thinking something has corroded badly during the months the car was waiting to be repaired. It is unfortunate that in a flood, water gets into everything including electricals and electronics which were never meant to be underwater.
It is possible to revive a car soon after a flood but long term reliability issues (mainly in the electricals & electronics) will plague the car for the rest of it's "life". This is especially true for modern cars with plenty of wiring under the hood and dashboard.
Older cars are actually easier to repair and have a better chance of being problem free because of having very little electronics and relatively easy to re-wire it from bumper to bumper with new wiring.

Pakisabi sa electrician mo na kunin ang continuity lahat wirings from ecu to engine especially the distibutor...
Kung bago ang igniter or maybe it's ignition coil, ganoon parin, pwede sa timing yan,
Aside from that, lahat ba ng injector ay gumagana?
Or lahat ba ng power line ng injector may lumalabas na voltage?
Try mo daw tanong dito.Last edited by xda2jojo; August 3rd, 2010 at 05:36 PM.

finally! something that i need. to answer your questions.
1. Pakisabi sa electrician mo na kunin ang continuity lahat wirings from ecu to engine especially the distibutor
he did. tinest yung junction box and fuses. oks naman daw. then next, tinganggal yung 4 sockets sa ecu. 2 of them sa ignition ( i think) and lahat may kuryente.
follow up question: may distributor ba yung altis? ang pagkaka alam ko direct yung socket from the engine to the harness of ecu.
2. Kung bago ang igniter or maybe it's ignition coil...
same igniter lang. nag swap kami ng igniter ganon parin. basta yung naka plug sa 2 and 4 yun ang walang spark.
follow up question: saan yung ignition coil?
3.
Aside from that, lahat ba ng injector ay gumagana?
Or lahat ba ng power line ng injector may lumalabas na voltage?
yes, all injector lines work.
additional info on the prob: yung 4 sockets na naka connect sa igniter may kuryente lahat. nawawalan lang ng kuryente pag naka connect yung igniter tapos i test namin with spark plug. walang spark talaga.
may naka encounter na before sa ibang altis naman. timing nga yung problem. pero pina check ko na camshaft timing saka crackshaft, naka timing naman daw.

Curious lang po, bakit ngayon nyo lang pinapaayos yung Altis nyo? It's been 11 months since the Ondoy flood.
