    Guys,

Pros and cons in terms of handling, ride, durability, economy. Plus any good and bad experiences with these. Medyo naguguluhan pa kasi friend ko on what to choose. If you are to ask me being a satisfied trooper owner kaya biased ako hehehe

    thanks.

Kung for the road, get an Expedition na lang. The Land Cruiser and Patrol are a bit compromised kasi nga they were designed for off-road work. The cabins are not as big as the dimensions would suggest. The step-in height is quite tall. Handling dynamics are so-so.

i agree with OTEP. if it's for on-road use, get the Exped. for light-med off-roading (coz i would think if you had a new Patrol or Land Cru, you wouldn't really take it to heavy off-roading) the Patrol or Land Cru.

the thing with the new Exped tho, is i find it quite claustrophobic vs. the older one. it's supposedly bigger, but when i'm inside, i can't see why.

    mdpo,

are we talking about the new expedition or the old one, and is the Land Cruiser being considered a Land Cruiser 80-series or the 100-series?

better take away the LC100 then, its price is too far above the others. if you can afford that, than there should be no question anymore hehe :D

between a 2003 Expedition, Patrol "Presidential Edition", and Trooper Skyroof... well, the expedition should be the easy choice for purely on-road use or if you want to carry more than 5 passengers regularly. The Patrol is easily convertible to 4x4, so if you plan to go off-roading, this should be your choice... or if you prefer the economy of a diesel to go with your luxury SUV.

the trooper is cheaper than these two SUVs and is not convertible to 4x4...

    Teka teka!

    Kung brandnew lahat, then DUH!

    Easy choice!

    LC100!

The Exped is as ubiquitous as Civics nowadays.... well almost.

Bossing bat parang wala yata ng Pajero sa choices nya?

    - 2003 Expedition: Wider body, passenger comfort, independent suspension on all 4 corners, gas guzzler, maintenance price could be hefty. On previous generation for 2nd hand choice, my best bet would still be the Eddie Bauer ed. 4x4 and all leather beefed up interior with extra trinkets that would keep him busy all day or even a week just to appreciate all the stuffs.

    - 2000 Land Cruiser (80 series local): Manual front hubs, superb engine power comes from an inline 6 cylinder engine. No diff locks available on local units. Best of all it is sold in 4x4!

    - 2003 Patrol: Comes right out of the package as a 4x2 unit, but with additional cost can easily be converted into a 4x4 monster. Climate control with air vents tucked in the ceiling covers. No fridge options like the previous generation. 3.0L inline 4 engine has excellent torque for its size. Too bad we won't get the TDIC-TD42 engine here.

-2002 Trooper: Skyroof edition nice touch for campaigning politicians. Economical engine but looses out on torque range from its rivals. Does this come with video package? All I know is that Isuzu beefed up its audio for less patient passengers stucked in traffic. Under chassis parts tend to sneak out and complemented by lots of under carriage protective covers.

if they can afford it, Land Cruiser! (but I'd rather get a X5 for that price).

but if budget is kinda tight, i'd get a Patrol and convert it to 4x4 ASAP!

OT: i went to nissan casa yesterday for my PMS. saw one gas patrol converted to 4wd. kinausap ko yung driver. found out they have 3 units of the same model patrol (2 gas, 1 diesel) all 4x4. ask ko kung ginagamit ba nila yung 4wd, sa pagkakaalam daw nya, once palang, at sinubukan lang ng amo nya. parang gusto ko sabihin ibigay nalang sa akin yung mga 4x4 mechanisms.
