As long as the competition is still the prehistoric Crosswind-Adventure set, Toyota can keep on using the IMMV platform. It's still ten times more modern than the other two... And much more modern than the L300-Urvan-Hiace vehicles the Japanese manufacturers are hawking as people movers here...

Only wish... That they introduce a non-CRDI base model for commercial variants, to mop up the taxi market...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

The Toyota Innova will feature a more updated and refreshed look. A New Toyota Innova was spotted going through tests and the changes made to it were quite clearly visible. The Japanese auto giant gave its popular passenger car a major makeover, which includes new grille and new lights. Even the profile of the car looks altered.

The previous upright grill is now set more vertically, so that the bonnet of the car looks less like that of a van. The fenders have new headlights stretched over it, while the chin and fogs look new as well. The rear bumper is again different and according to reports, all the new Innova models could get optional parking sensors.

The car’s main focus is an updated interior. This includes new premium materials, a new stylish instrumental panel and features, which make it look more car like. Another priority for the maker has been on better space utilization, especially the cars third row seats, which Toyota is aiming to make more useable, spacious and comfortable during long journeys.

Though a new engine option is not in the works, the engine seen in the current Toyota, the common rail 2.5l diesel is to be upgraded to deliver more torque and power. From the beginning, Toyota has been reserved when it comes to torque and power ratings that their 2.5 delivers, so increasing the power of the car will not be too difficult as Toyota is already known for their reliability.

What is not yet known is the car’s pricing, whether Toyota would maintain the price or not. So far, the Innova has been able to do well in the market against its competitors, with the Innova facing no credible threat. With no competitors trying to eat its profits, Toyota could easily stretch its margin on the car, when they introduce it in mid-2012.

    Cosmetically, yes there are changes.

Mechanical changes, I doubt it. Then again, isn't that what Toyota is all about? Change the look (be it through superficial enhancements or new body) but the underlying parts always remain the same or tweaked a bit.

hoping that when Toyota would release a new model of a specific car model they improve on both exterior and interior aspects of the car; coz it seems that was just changed was more of the external aspect of the Innova. hoping there would also be changes on the internal cabin of the car - it would produce more market!

It's still a car only a mommy would drive. Happily, that is.

Expect some a few mechanical changes especially sa medyo underpowered nilang engine..The interior will likely be changed a bit..

Mukhang Alphard yung updated front end design nya ha!

so far these are the things i didn't like with the current and previous innova's and hopefully they've made some changes/improvements:
    - 3rd row seats have a small leg room
    - 3rd row seats when folded up eat a portion of the backglass, making the view a bit obscured... just a bit but still noticeable
    - 3rd row seats when folded up take a valuable space on the sides
    - 3rd row matting is "bitin"
    - when all seats are folded up, the space is not flat maybe - what they should have done is something like the cx-9 ;)
    - roof rail is not bolted on to the roof panel
    - spare tire doesn't come with the cover (unlike montero)
    - rear tailgate doesn't have a handle for closing (unlike montero) - you have to hold the outer panel to close
    - no dome light in the rear (unlike fortuner)
    - aircon vents when closed are pointed to the windshield and eventually results in fogging
    - no drum in disc rear brake system (disc brake for pedal, drum for parking)
    - vvti variants don't come with the underhood cover
    - no 4wd innova, 2.7vvti?

The 3rd Row really has a small leg room.
4wd innova? that's probably too much for a MPV.
