I guess Subaru can achieve that 400hp from a 2.4L turbo engine. The Mercedes A45S AMG is an AWD hatchback powered by a 2.0L turbo engine rated at 416hp/500Nm.

If you want a tamer vehicle with the same turbocharged 2.4L engine with a lower output (260hp), opt for the Ascent or the new Outback XT or new Legacy XT. The new Outback XT and Legacy XT are both quicker to 60mph than the new GR86 and BRZ. They are not suited for the track though.

400hp that means a lot of power for a lightweight RWD 2 door. they may fit an AWD system to the 86/BRZ if they decide to put the wild WRX engine in these.

It is the same engine (2.4L boxer) in the Ascent (Evoltis)?

Yep, the FA24. The Outback XT and Legacy XT also has the FA24DIT like the Ascent. The BRZ/86 has the NA design.

The previous BRZ/86 has the FA20 NA engine. The WRX, XT, Levorg GTS, and WRX S4 has the same engine but turbocharged (FA20DIT).
