Trying out the Vios for a change. At 750k, sulit siya for anyone who just needs basic transport.
Spacious, comfy quiet ride, touch screen, enough power for city driving, convenient AT. Basic transport at its best.

Not sure I’d put touch screen as one of the pros. Tried touchscreens in multiple cars including the FJ, Territory, honda city, and ciaz. Totally unnecessary and somewhat distracting. I still prefer real buttons. Might be fine for younger people though…
But yeah I agree with the other pros you have listed since its always a pleasure riding in the back seat of taxis since there’s good amount of space. Although may kalampag na yung iba but that’s probably due to the abuse it takes with daily duty.
now that you mention it,
one can manipulate physical buttons without looking at them.
one can not confidently manipulate touch screen buttons without looking at them.
I remember when I was being naughty back in 2007 or 2008, I tried texting while driving using the 1st iPhone. Instantly thought to myself that its damn near impossible to do. Went and got a secondary phone, a Nokia with numeric keypad. 😂
Of course, I’m not doing s*** like that anymore because of the capability of modern cars to make bluetooth calls.
Kung sagad, bat bibili ng mods?
If your budget is so tight that you don’t even have flex to spend 100k more for the next higher trim with all the features you wanted anyway, maybe you shouldn’t have bought a car yet.
Another scenario I see is if the car is a company-issued vehicle with no option for the employee to choose what’s assigned to them.
So they get a base model car and upgrade what they can. My only watch out is that whatever mods you put will not have resale value because at the end of the day when you sell the car it’s still a base model. So not really prudent financially, but if it makes you happy go ahead.

+1 on this.
Better be contented with what you can afford.
Parang kilala ko dati yan. Bibili daw sya ng TOTL City tapos gagastos ng over 100k sa mods. Sabi ko, bili ka na lang Civic. Kahit anong mod pa gawin mo sa City, di pa rin yun Civic.

True.
If you try buying original Toyota parts to upgrade your unit to a higher trim level it might cost more than buying the higher trim level minus mo pa yung warranty which might be void if you do this.
Kung aftermarket naman na gawa china baka the quality is not up to standards and would usually stop working or masisira na in a few years.
Hindi naman sa hindi kuntento sir, nasanay lang sa convenience nung Yaris G, kaya medyo naghahanap ng same features, yeah it was my mistake for not buying the G prime vios pero the history is i bought it form a friend (VIOS XE) and it is a lot cheaper compared to market price, and at the time of purchase yun lang budget meron ako, well other features really don't matter much for me as long as the car brings me from point A to B without hassle. Power side mirror lang talaga haha! I usually wash my car everyweekend and minsan talaga pag pupunasan kona yung mirrors nagiiba konti yung position then i need to sit on the driver side just to fix them, go out or reach out from the inside to adjust.

i understand your yearn for power side mirrors.
my one innova has it, and my other does not have it.
16K to have it installed in your vios?
why not!
i am confident, you can afford it easily, what with the savings wrought about by that vios buy from your friend.
but if this will be followed by other upgrades...
and when it comes to selling that car, with its slew of upgrades,
we will probably not get the desired price.
buyers of used cars, me included, prefer "stock".
heh heh.

one thing i have learned thru the ages,
"do not assume the person can not afford it, unless he specifically confessed to it."
