Ok I understand your apparent disbelief. Turns out na as long as less than 100km, ok pa. Less than 30km karamihan. Maybe 50-60km minsan depende sa lugar (provinces maybe?).
What happens is may konting test drive pa yung car. In my case according to SA, yung car ko loaded sa carrier from Laguna plant to Taytay. Then from Taytay driven to Shaw Blvd.
Which I doubt since sa luxury cars lang yata ginagawa yun.
For me naman, 6km is acceptable na rin. My officemate also bought the J variant with 6km odo reading (pinagalitan pa s'ya ng asawa n'ya kasi hindi n'ya pa mapaliwanag kung bakit... dapat daw kasi 0km hehehe). Sa Toyota Fairview, Q.C. pa n'ya yun na pick up.
Google Maps calculated Toyota Taytay to Toyota Shaw to be around 13km.
As for me, basta come maintenance sa casa make sure nila na maayos kotse ko![]()
Hi, I’m also getting mine on friday. Didn’t bother to test drive baka mabanga ko ang test car. Noob question, is it fine to manually downshift on this cvt when going down a steep and long downhill? Do I need to continually downshift by shifting to -M if it goes outside the engine braking speed or does it remain there? My only experience in driving is with my honda jazz gd cvt. Engine braking only happens when speed is around 30kph but it will continue to speed up to 60 or more if I leave it alone even if I set it to L.
Basically, here's what the owner's manual says (paraphrased):
When in low gears using shiftmatic mode (M), it stays there as long as you don't rev too high (red line) where the ECU will automatically shift up to protect the engine.
When in high gears using shiftmatic mode, it automatically downshifts when speed is slow, or to M1 if vehicle stops.
You can choose gears from M1 to M7.
All the more reason to test drive.
With zero expectation, you will be at the mercy of agents trying to make money from you. Test drive a the vios, compare this with other cars within the price range, then decide which is best for you.... Unless you feel like blindly throwing 700k pesos for a car.

Its time to move on from mamon to cheescake, from pandesal to croissant.
Partly true. If hindi naman continuous at hindi naman high RPM/redlining, use engine brakes with the right gear WITH brakes. Pag nag overheat ang brake pads, baka madisgrasya ka pa due to brake fading and loss of control.
Key here is to watch your RPM when engine braking, use breaks as necessary and watch your speed (when driving on steep downhill inclines). Safety first![]()
I'm saying depende yan, bro. First, know the capabilities of your car. If in doubt, check natin ang owner's manual:
* Downshifting - On a steep downgrade, downshifting helps maintain safe speed and prolongs brake life.
* Do not use engine braking on slippery road surfaces or at high speeds.
* Descending steep grades - When descending a steep grade, shift to lower gears, depending on load weight and grade steepness. Descend slowly, using the brakes only occasionally to prevent them from overheating.
All the above points are in the Manual Shift Mode (Shiftmatic) section.
Yung sinasabing brake assist, pang emergency situation lang yan.
"During emergency braking situations when it is necessary to depress the brake pedal with greater force, the break assist system provides braking assistance, thus enhancing breaking performance.
When the brake pedal is depressed hard or depressed more quickly, the brakes apply more firmly."
honda fit gd surplus po. Me and wifey will drive.

Maraming salamat at may mga iba ibang braking techniques akong nalaman. Nung first time kong umakyat ng mountain road kasi ng brake lang ako either fully or slightly but never ko tinanggal paa ko pag downhill. Pagdating sa baba, amoy sunog yung driver side wheel area. So yun brake nalang for 3-5 seconds, release for a few seconds then brake ulit. So set kung tama yung pgka intindi ko, brake hanggang bumaba ang rpm, set gear to M1, then brake?

As for me, for regular stop and go traffic: brakes lang. For very steep downgrades: downshift with intermittent braking. Again, ang objective dito: safe speed and control. Be extra wary din sa engine braking when slowing down tapos may kasunod ka sa likod, hindi kasi umiilaw ang brake/tail lights mo. That's why use brakes as necessary.
Iba ibang opinion/diskarte naman yan, and I respect that.

May ibang option ba mgpa kabit ng front and rear dashcam without voiding the warranty? 15k for both, 9k for rear only sa casa AVT ang brand.
