A less powerful 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo version is confirmed. It will make 200hp. Toyota says it's compatible with a 2JZ swap.

How in name of all thats holy can you turbocharge a 2L and only get 200hp?! Thats just 3hp more that the GT86. Haha

So initial reports have pegged the price at 5.5M, its kinda on the high side. I just came back from the US and saw dealer priced it as USD 57,550.

Was hoping Toyota would pull off some wizardry to get this in under JPEPA, but looks like no go.

For close to the same amount of money there are much better alternatives.

BMW M2c has the proper M-version of the engine, a proper gearbox (DCT or 6MT), and 2 extra seats.

Just this morning a guy brought his new red supra to the breakfast meet hosted by Aston for the GTR club.

In short stretches along EDSA in can keep up with the GTR. Will know more about its capabilities in the coming months in a scheduled meet in Clark.

At 5.5M, I would just spend a bit more and get the Nissan GT-R even if it is a bit older.
