Hi mga sir. What is the better option in 4x4 suv . Fortuner or montero? Correct me if im wrong. Ang fortuner daw hindi pwedeng gawin AWD bec walang center diffrential. That means you cannot use it on hi way to gain extra traction during rainy season. Especially going on zigzag wet road. 2nd the 2.8 engine will be more thirtsty and han montero 2.4 which has almost the same or better power than 2.8 fort. 3rd the 4x2 fort v has or almost the same price as 4x4 montero
I prefer the safety features of the Montero especially the automatic emergency braking. Looks are subjective. I prefer this since im old.
The totl Fort is still a diesel. imo it is one of the understressed engines in the segment. too expensive compared to a heavily discounted montero though.

Update of my unit. Wala silang nakitang problem sa battery or alternator. See attached image for more details.
May code na lumabas ahh.. Google P1603 OBD2 error code na lang. Sample below.
Toyota Vitz Engine Stalling - P16 3 Error Code - Vitz/Yaris - PakWheels Forums
Good news, alang problema battery ang alternator mo.
Bad news, P1603 code, lost communication between PCM and TCM resulting to engine stall. Dami pede cause nyan....

And 4wd capability of the fortuner is not that as convenience of montero. Which awd mode is not present in fortuner. And i believed that i can use the awd mode more often for traction on rainy days Than 4x4 fortuner
As i was thinking people buy 4x4 fortuner because they have powerful engine not because of its 4x4. Because mitsu super select is more advance. And its the strategies of toyota to make you consider the 4x4 on your list . 2 major upgrades in 400 k difference engine and drive train. Mas sulit dba . Against sa mux na 300 k plus difference because of the drive train lang.
Sa montero naman around 200+ k. Against sa premium nila. But significant upgrades naman ang pinagkaiba front mitigation. Blind spot warning. Extra powerseats. Sun roof headlight washer. Magwheels, autowiper.... mas sulit sa lahat
Montero top of the line 1.740M na lang after discounts. Sulit na yan for 4x4 purposes.

ganun talaga tas 2016 model pa yun.
the thing is I just consider this GT Montero 4x4 as a CRV all-time 4wd na diesel since softrider na naman sya. hindi talaga pwede eto pang 4x4 trail tulad ng kaha ng Fortuner, Fortuner malapad eh better for mountain trails. this Montero manipis so yun na lang parang masabi na lang naka- 4x4 sa city lol
After parking the car, do you shift to P first before you lift the hand brake?
If you do..change that habit.
Lift the hand brake first before you move that gear from D or R to P

Even with out discount . I would get montero 4x4 than fortuner . Its far more advance. Its a fulltime 4wd not like fortuner. Mitsubishi has a legacy of 4x4 in dakar race. Besides all major trail cannot be run by either of all stock 4x4. Major upgrade din kailangan lift. Change tire steel bumper. Etc. and yes check the australian review on 4x4 capability. Before you claim what you claim for.
Do you think sa trail need matigas na suspension? Dapat nga malambot para sumunod sa uneven road. Do u think kailangan ng lapad? Y is suzuki jimny was use by many 4wd enthusias. Have u been in a trail? Mitsubishi has the 4x4 legacy of dakkar race and top of it they have been champions for many years. Besides its all in one 4x4 you can use it as cross over as well as you can use it as land cruiser. You dont need to find trail to use 4x4. You can use it everyday for traction. As well as you can run fast on twisties around kennon road
Tingen ko malabo ang current Montero sport for trail use, maybe sa first 6 months. Pero it's body design i doubt tatagal yan sa ganun environment.
Since you mentioned Dakkar, Pajero, search for the Australian review of the Pajero and the current Montero Sport parehong white yun eh,
Check mo yun video na pababa sila, yun Montero nadulas at humampas sa pang-ilalim talaga pwede tumaob, ,but The Pajero stsble, maybe if you keep on using your Montero puro dents siguro yun
That's why im very confident na dapat malapad ang base ng isang 4x4 for those types of trails, the Jimny has small body as well as short wheel base. Pero eto Montero, kayo na lang humusga sa video
The Australain reviewers maintained they still love the old Pajero more
