Aside from ground clearance, makisi ang hood-to-wheel distance ng wigo so hindi sya likely sasabit. I've gone through lots of steep roads and humps wala naman nagiging issue But it would help if you can share us some measure of how steep your ramp really is

i have a wigo. it has a very accommodating approach and departure angle.
if it will not go against local government ordinance, consider fixing up your garage / driveway instead. that way, you will not have to think of this issue everytime you get a new car. maraming nabibiling ready-to-use tiles na may ipin, to fight slippage.

no need for samurai / bumper accessories. mataas po clearance ni wigo compared to other cars. so far hindi ko pa nangunguso si wigo sa gutter or gas station elevated banks unlike with our gen2 vios.
speaking of clearance - bagay na bagay sa mga senior citizens na masakit na ang tuhod. thats why my father liked this small car vs our old vios.

    welcome!
if memory serves, i paid less than 5K. but i removed the non-essentials from the work-list. (if it's not in the owner's manual, it ain't necessary. "next time na lang, bossing. wala sa budget, e.")
bring your (xerox) ORCR and your toyota-provided-when-you-bought-the-vehicle service booklet, po.
some casas are open on sundays. otis comes to mind. call for reservation, to avoid long queue. and do come slightly ahead of schedule, so as not to be bumped off.
if you have your pms done outside the authorized place (casa!), you stand to lose the warranties. while some owners value the warranty, others, for reasons they find valid, will prefer non-casa pms and possible loss of warranty.

As far as I remember I got mine for around 4-5K lang po. Pero be ready sa 40K PMS, medyo mahal & Casa would charge around 14K.

Basta patint mo ng medyo mataas ang heat rejection, ok sya. Kung wala nun... Good luck sa summer. Naka-sakay ako nyan via uber. Init talaga pag light tint and visor lang ang tint

ok yung dalawang tao na nasa harap.
yung nasa likod, lalo na kung tanghaling tapat, ay hindi gaano nalalamigan.
but then, this is true of most cars with only one set of aircon vents.

hi, new forum member here but i've been reading the forums since last year
and been learning a lot. thanks, guys

i'd rather create a new post specifically for this but i am not allowed yet
so apologies if this isn't a wigo-centered post

my family decided on buying a new car this coming may
since we were getting really stressed out by the daily commute
there's only going to be 2 adults and a 3 year old child as daily passengers
the daily trip will mostly involve twice going through
    1. quirino highway
    2. mindanao avenue
    3. visayas avenue
    4. central avenue
with some side streets in between
we'd like the trips to be comfortable even during the summer
we also plan on going on some out-of-town trips. ie subic zoo, tagaytay, etc

first-time buyers here. so far, we're torn between the latest models of these three:
    Current SRP Latest Models(?)
    1. Wigo 1.0 G A/T PHP563k 2016
    2. Yaris 1.3 E A/T PHP795k 2017
    3. Vios 1.3 E A/T PHP812k 2017

at first, we were really set with the Wigo. it fits the budget really well.
we've ridden on one before and liked the experience.
plus, we figured that it would have an easier time on the side streets we have to go through every day.

however, my parents, dissuaded us from the Wigo, saying the engine is a daihatsu and not a 'proper' car.
they also said that hatchbacks, in general, are not good for the highways since a co-worker of them
felt his being carried away by the wind due to the speed of the other vehicles on the highway
and immediately sold his hatchback and bought a sedan

i've tried searching for negative reviews on the daihatsu engine used but can't find any
moreover, my parents can't quantify what exactly it is that's wrong with the daihatsu engine or what a 'proper' car is
i've read up on some shared experiences on the net with long-distance driving and baguio trips via the wigo,
and the reviews range from fine to excellent considering the specs

then, my parents offered to pay for the difference between the Wigo and Vios so we can get a 'proper' car
    and the confusion mounted.
we feel that the Wigo is roomier and taller than the Vios,
and we like that the back seat can be folded up for big items we need to transport
the Vios has CVT and Dual VVTI on its side, but my husband said that 4speed in Wigo is reliable enough
and we figured with our lighter car, fuel consumption should not be that high
    etc etc

then we found out about the Yaris which from what we've read seems to be a Vios hatchback
we like the 40-60 foldable rear seat. our child can sit on the non-folded one in a child seat
the height is same with Vios, though, so the Wigo still seems taller.
there is also no front fog lamps which is necessary for any trip to tagaytay/baguio/etc
we tried finding online customer reviews of Yaris, though, but can't find any
i've been scanning the roads and mall exhibits ever since january and i still have not seen any
we have no one to ask about its performance and i'm loathe to rely on just paid reviews or sales agents

we haven't test driven any of these yet but we're planning to
just, right now, we want the doubts i mentioned above answered

so what do you guys think about these 3 cars?
if you were in our circumstance, which would you pick?
what can you share that can help clarify the doubts/questions we have in mind?

thanks in advance and sorry for the long post

Simple problem. If you can get the Vios, then get that. It's better than the Wigo in every way.

More space, more power, better ride, more features, safer, looks better, and so on.

Only advantage of the Wigo is that it's cheap, but if you can afford the better car, go for it.

    i got a wigo.
i bought it because it was... cheap!
the engine is a daihatsu, and it's old! but i believe it was small car of the year awardee some years ago. so, it's not really an improper engine.
but yes, matagtag ang wigo. a yaris or a vios (neither of which i own) will probably lull the child to sleep better than the wigo.
but if you really are looking for a comfortable car, with a wigo budget... get a lovingly pre-owned altis. if the car was reasonably cared for by its owner, hindi ka magsisisi. naka-pili pa kayo ng ending digit ng plaka.
    good luck.

correction: small engine award, hindi small car.

Yes, even for the Yaris, too. May I ask, though. Between the Vios and the Yaris, which would you choose? And why?
