    IMO

    If we are comparing Toyota G AT to Mitsubishi Mirage here are my inputs

    Gadgets = Toyota (Mirage GLX's rearseat does not have power windows)
    Safety Feature = Toyota (Mirage GLX does not have disabling system and ABS)
    FC = Mirage (Based on reviews here and reviews in Mirage forums kaya mag 20km/l ng mirage)
    Power = Mirage (Toyota only has 1.0L engine but if you are after power might as well wait for the Yaris)
    Comfort = Toyota (rear suspension of Mirage is too soft)
    Space = Toyota (even if mirage is slightly bigger, mas roomy ang Wigo)

    Other note:
    GLX does not have rear spoilers with third brake light which IMO is a must for small cars as a safety feature to signal bigger vehicles from behind

    Between Mirage GLX and Wigo G AT, i'd go for Toyota Wigo G AT

    i think 15" and 16" mags would look good. you still need to do actual fitting to see if it works.

    recommended upsizing is 2% or less difference in circumference. this is to minimize speedometer and odometer error.

    example: you changed to bigger mags and tires and there is +2% difference in circumference. when your speedometer reads 100kph, you are actually travelling at 102kph.. and if your tripmeter says 100 km, you actually travelled 102km na.

    for brands, madami choices depende na sa budget mo.. better visit actual shops na lang.

    i used online tire size calculators for these..

    14"

    175/65 R14 (All Stock, Wigo G A/T)
    Tire Width = 6.89 in
    Side Wall = 4.48 in
    Tire Height = 23 in
    Circumference = 72.1 in

    195/60 R14 (Stock Mags, Wider Tires)
    Tire Width = 7.68 in
    Side Wall = 4.61 in
    Tire Height = 23.2 in
    Circumference = 72.9 in
    Difference in Circumference = +1.11%

    15"

    175/60 R15 (Bigger Mags)
    Tire Width = 6.89 in
    Side Wall = 4.13 in
    Tire Height = 23.3 in
    Circumference = 73.1 in
    Difference in Circumference = +1.35%

    185/55 R15 (Bigger Mags, Wider Tires)
    Tire Width = 7.28 in
    Side Wall = 4.01 in
    Tire Height = 23 in
    Circumference = 72.3 in
    Difference in Circumference = +0.24%

    16"

    175/50 R16 (Bigger Mags)
    Tire Width = 6.89 in
    Side Wall = 3.44 in
    Tire Height = 22.9 in
    Circumference = 71.9 in
    Difference in Circumference = -0.29%

    195/45 R16 (Bigger Mags, Wider Tires)
    Tire Width = 7.68 in
    Side Wall = 3.45 in
    Tire Height = 22.9 in
    Circumference = 71.9 in
    Difference in Circumference = -0.21%

    17"

    195/40 R17 (Bigger Mags, Wider Tires)
    Tire Width = 7.68 in
    Side Wall = 3.07 in
    Tire Height = 23.1 in
    Circumference = 72.7 in
    Difference in Circumference = +0.81%

    Reminder: as wheels and tires get larger and heavier, acceleration and fuel economy suffer.

    Obviously, di matrapik ang city loop niya. :p

    Surprised he didn't get more out of the Mirage. That one does 23-24 easy.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    mali pa din ung test, dapat convoy ang ginawa, para ung traffic na ma experience ng 1 ay ma-experience ng lahat.

    Iba ang FC mo pag rush hour at patay na oras...

    Can't be done. He's a single writer, borrowing the cars one at a time. To get everything together is very, very difficult. Few writers bother to do such in-traffic fuel economy group tests (Tessa Salazar does), and even then, being first or last in the convoy has a big effect on economy... as does the difference between individual drivers.

    And then you get to measuring. If your cars don't use at least four or five liters of fuel, the error rate is higher than the consumption... fill-to-fill differences can be as big as one or two liters over a single trip, or three or four if the car is allowed to sit a while between fills and trips.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    admirable naman talaga ung extra effort ng writer, and I believe he has friends who can help him to drive those cars in convoy.

    Measurement is simple, full tank-distance traveled-full tank again, you will get the FC. If one car uses more fuel than the rest then alam mo na malakas ang FC nun.

    I have done it before when I was in Mozambique with our delivery trucks, need ng company makuha ang average fuel consumption ng 5 trucks, so inutusan ko ung warehouse na i-load ung cargo sa trucks at bigyan ng full tank pero wag palalabasin ng compound.

    Pagdating ko, convoy kami hanga makalabas ng city at pumili ako ng gas station para magpakarga ulit ng full tank.

    5 trucks, same distance traveled, same cargo (load), so madali ang comparison kung anong truck na dapat ibenta.

    Trucks are easy. Simple fuel tanks, simple fuel filler necks, and high consumption... which means you use a lot over short distances.

    I've done many, many, many full-tank to full-tank tests. And I've had to throw out many results due to pump issues.

    The fuel filler neck of a modern car is a very long, convoluted, kinked plastic pipe. Some pump cut-offs are triggered by the tight neck. Sometimes, air pockets are left in spaces where fuel cannot go when you're loading fuel. After a few kilometers of bouncing around on potholes, you'll find that you've "used" an extra liter or two just from the air pockets "burping".

    Then odometer inaccuracy. I recall one of Tessa's articles where the most economical car had the most kilometers on the odometer, even though all three cars drove the exact same distance. How do you calculate from that?

    And then there's driver technique. Very important. Requires you rotate drivers between cars, so you need to do several legs to the trial.

    Sometimes it's straightforward. Some cars are easy to test. Others are difficult. We're trying, right now, to do a full group test to develop a standardized system for testing economy, in controlled conditions on the racetrack... fuel measured by weight (most accurate method of all).

    And let me tell you... it's very, very, very hard. Some drivers have very, very light feet. :hysterical:

    James' style is okay. As long as it's always the same driver in similar conditions, the results should be comparable.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
