The Toyota Wigo is really optimized for low speed urban driving, but it does return 16.2 km/l on the highway at an average speed of 80 km/h with no traffic. In the city, the Wigo was able to achieve 13.4 km/l with light traffic (night time, 2 people in the car) and 10.1 km/l in moderate traffic (rush hour on a Friday, driver only). It would be interesting to see how the 4-speed automatic version would perform in terms of fuel economy...-huhuhuhuhu mt nato na review...hndi umabot kahit 19km/l like mirage...nalilito na tuloy aq anong kukunin

the 2-DIN DVD/USB/iPod-ready entertainment unit. It has a navigation function but you'll have to buy the antenna and the SD Card with all the maps.
Is this true? Hindi kasama sa package ang GPS Antenna and SD card?

Yep. The price for the package will probably cost around 10k++, just like how they priced the GPS antenna + sd card package for the stripped down Fortuner at 20k. We're offering this package at a lower price, just PM me for details or text me at 09333395951.

I read through review above and checked out the pictures. Picture number #4 is of the sticker in the engine bay which contains "valve clearance" data, which I haven't seen in a new car for a very very long time.

Does this mean that the valve clearances must be adjusted periodically like cars made before the turn of the millennium? Can the experts in this forum help with this question?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it needs to be adjusted. I have the 1KR-FE engine mechanical (pdf)file and...looks complicated. There are 8 main steps and on the fifth, you have to remove all 13bolts and 2nuts to remove the cylinder head cover.

Thanks *Izzie for the reply. This engine seems to be a throwback to the 1990s -- no VVTi and manually adjusted valve tappet.

Weird for a Toyota, but it explains why Wigo is so affordable. If you can wait an extra hour every periodic servicing, then I guess it won't really matter. It's just so retro though...

    Thanks again.

Sad to say but I backed out na sa Wigo, maraming ng stock for the E variant but for the G variant my SA could still not give me an estimate date. I'll be getting my mirage na tomorrow, pero more power pa din to Wigo owners and wannabe owners here, I still think this car is a bang for the buck

Happy to find out that my bigger Mirage is more efficient. I was surprised though, that the manual version isn't much thriftier. I suppose the AT variants with 4 cogs is less efficient but the manuals should be up to par, if not better than 1.2L competition. Fortunately, it has its very fragrant 'Toyota' badge in it. Makakalusot pa rin tong Wigo for sure. ;)

13 km/l in light traffic is just about what I'd expect from my time with the car.

Sucks that the manual has such short gears. That's what holds the AT back on the highway, too. Both cars should do 20 km/l with a little work, but in my experience, the AT is nowhere near the Mirage's level on the highway.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

No VVT versus VVT(Mivec) and with better power to weight ratio for the Mirage so it's no surprise that the mirage is thriftier on fuel despite the 200cc displacement difference.

Still, the price tag and the holy T badge will make this one a seller especially for automobile newbies which is precisely its target market.

low displacement doesnt automatically mean fuel efficient... Its the whole concerted effort like drag, weight, tranny type, gearing, tires etc..etc....

Looking at the fuel economy figures posted here, seems like the Wigo isn't any better than our 2006 1.3E Vios which we're thinking of replacing already.

Would be nice to see more computed fuel economy figures, not guesstimates like "one-fourth tank from here to there".

I used the android app MILEAGE for this... combination city and highway. The bad thing about this app is kelangan sagad palagi ng salin para mas accurate yung reading sa nagamit mo nang gas.
