mabilis nga ang MS. Nice shots zix. Fort 3.0 vs MS 2.5 yan sir?

Sigurado ako mamaya lang may panibagong spreadsheet yan na ibibigay for our problem solving ulit.. I guess yung correction factor ng speedo at gearing ang new topic, antayin natin mag reresearch ulit yan sa net..![]()
Uh... again... again... absolutely meaningless. Most stock speedometers are nowhere near accurate. Some are off by 10 km/h at 100... some are off by as much as 20 (experienced this on one test unit...). Unless you can provide a shot that includes a vehicle mounted GPS performance meter, it's still just hearsay. In other words, though both cars are supposedly going 160, they could be going anywhere from 140-170.
And, as vinj has pointed out... maintaining such high speeds in cars like that is incredibly dangerous. Neither the Fortuner nor the Montero has the body control or braking ability to cope with high speed emergencies or rough roads.
According to the marketing crew no. But the Hilux 4x4 has it.
What's up with all this speed and acceleration business??? On an SUV??? :whoa: If that's what someone is looking for on a ride then he'd be better off with a big sedan or euro car where one can cruise at 200kph all day long. Most off road tests i've seen for these SUVS did not even consider the power differential between the MS and Fortuner anymore but more of the capability.
Has anyone tried doing (or know how to do) an emergency brake and evasive maneuver, with uneven vehicle load, on these things from anywhere above 120kph? I've had the opportunity to try this with cars on a wet track before and its already a handful so guys who have all the balls to do such on a public road on a vehicle with a high center of gravity, and even take a pic to prove a point while at it, should be very aware of this for safety's sake.
If you happen by the NLEX or SCTEX boneyard and catch a damaged Fortuner or Monty Sport, you'll understand what i mean.
It's getting out of topic already. Back to regular programming.
Hello tsikoteers!IMO, Much better to compare same engine displacement like 3.0 d4d crdi VNT 4at and 3.0 4m41 crdi non-VGT 4speed at than 2.5 4d56 crdi vgt 5speed. mababa kasi displacement nito compare sa 3.0 fortuner. sad to say and i think phase out na yata and 3.0 4m41 sa monty and wala sa philipppine market spec yung VGT sa 4m41. but for competition and comparison sake, the 3.0 4m41 crdi vgt 5AT has an edge over the 3.0 d4d fort especially that extra cog of the monty(if mitsu will bring that engine like in other countries). just like comparing orange to orange and not orange to lemons..![]()
Ride has greatly improved. Di ko nga alam how they did it. According to sa's i interviewed springs lang daw ang pinalitan. Someone said cushioned seats, someone said reangled shock. Will never know.
Thanks boss turboride for the answer. Actually i was torn between the new hilux and the upcoming ford ranger wildtrak. Ok hilux kasi proven na since 2005 and they even fix the stalling problem caused by SCV and EGR but i think and my presumption ,2-3years from now mag change uli ng model ang hilux same scenario with fortuner. problem naman sa ford ranger especially pag all new is the bugs(recall) and hindi pa proven here in our shore..Im planning to buy the top spec 4x4 matic hilux for replacement of my aging 4x4 strada. Peace=)
Wait for the new Ranger in 2012... That truck will kick all the other trucks with their endless facelifts hehehe
Well it also makes the Ranger tough. A truck is bulit to carry loads and to handle rough roads... And its not as if the Hi-Lux has a nice ride hehehe
