Toyota Etios sedan teased ahead of India reveal

At India's Delhi expo on January 6, Toyota will be revealing the Etios, a small sedan specifically created for the Indian market. The entry level four-door, engineered to compete with Suzuki's Swift sedan (sold under the Maruti badge in India), will be available with a 1.4-liter diesel that's used in the Yaris, and either a 1.2-liter or 1.3-liter engine.

Toyota has big plans for the Etios, both in India and other world markets. It will begin production on the subcontinent, and once the company gets that operation where it wants it to be, Brazil is said to be the next destination for Etios assembly. I like it The front end is a refreshing change although the rest of the body might be patterned still after the Altis.

I hope that interior shot is just for the concept model, the ultra bright red accents are too tacky for me. Good thing they protruded the casing for the front speakers/separates so that when you screw-on a pair of aftermarket ones with thick magnets you won't need those thick lipped spacers

Center mounted antennas seems to be the rave which looks very sporty on this baby.

I thought so too! This car name will be a joke here in Manila.

ditto... when it comes here to RP/ASEAN... it will be named "akez"!!! hehehehe...

but seriously, i'll be keeping an eye on this model on how it impacts India and South America- their next target. Probably ASEAN (with us) will get this model too... probably time to say bye-bye to the Vios 1.3 J???

Heard that Danton Remoto of Ladlad has ordered 10 units of Toyota Etios which will serve as their service vehicles.

The color of the cars will be Fuschia Pink.........
