Ano kaya itong new variant ng VIOS for 2007?

    --------------------------------------------

    Toyota sets 8-percent sales growth

    By Max V. de Leon

    Reporter

TOYOTA Motor Philippines (TMPC) is targeting an 8-percent sales increase this year on expectations that the domestic market will expand from 2006.

The company also expects that a new variant of its bestselling Vios sedan would be the driving force behind its sales target.

Toyota will be churning out the Vios in the country beginning this year. The new variant would be assembled in its Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant TMPC vice president for sales Jing Atienza said over the weekend.

The company is currently importing the Vios from Thailand, but preference by Filipinos for the sedan because of its affordability has prompted Toyota officials to consider manufacturing the model here.

The Vios 1300-cc model sells for P553,000 and the 1500-cc for P722,000.

Toyota expects to breach the 38,000-sales mark in 2006, which means its 8-percent target would result in sales of at least 41,000 units this year.

The domestic auto industry is likely to reach totals sales of 99,000 this year. Official 2006 sales figures will be released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers in the Philippines Inc. next week.

Toyota, which has a domestic market share of over 35 percent, projects 2007 industry sales to breach the 100,000, ending the year with at least 103,000 vehicles sold. The 100,000 mark was last breached in 1996.

From January to November 2006, industry sales rose slightly by 1.6 percent to 89,391 from 87,996 in the same period in 2005.

Im guessing that they will release a 1.0J VIOS to compete with Hyundai Getz and Kia Picanto.. Any rumor on the new variant?

The next Vios will be an ASEAN spec Yaris sedan aka JDM Belta.

    Spy photos from Thailand...

    naka-scooter pa 'tong mga paparazzoo . . .

I'd like the hatchback more, it gives better access at the back.

    Limited Edition daw kasi.

As in, limited yung budget nila for a complete redesign, so they settled on a few key mods instead.

    Hi guys!

Kindly share your thoughts, experiences with your new Vios...
    How's the ride?
    How's the fuel consumption?
Is the 1.3 variant under powered?
    Did you regret buying it?
Can you recommend your SR and where you got your unit?

    TIA

When I take a look at it sa showroom mas maluwag siya kesa sa dating model. But di ko pa siya na drive. I just don't like the fact na yung soundsystem naka mold sa dash board. That means if I want to change my sound system, babasagin mo pa yung dashboard. sayang naman.

Its a good car. It's more spacious than the old one. It looks very good too. It's more fuel effiecient compared to the Yaris.

No offense to the owner of the new one. At first nagandahan ako sa looks kaso pag tumatagal naaasiwa na ako sa looks. siguro kasi noong una kong nakita, un yung top of the line. Nung nakikita ko na yung mga mababang variant at may maliliit na mags nagiging olats na.

Pero everything else I'm sure its very reliable. engine, comfort, fuel economy, maintenance and so forth and so on are all good.
