Meron din silang fleets going to Cagayan (Tuguegarao/Cauayan/Santiago). Also, yung luxury coach nila has 3-single detached reclineable seat in each row kaya comfortable. AFAIK, Partas & Philtranco also has this deluxe options.

Checkout site nila for more info/details:

Not only Victory... but other buses have followed suit in having a daytime running lamp while traversing the NLEX.

Now, I either ride Baliwag or Florida Transits.

They're not perfect but as far as good bus liners come into mind Victory Liner does stand out. Their buses are clean when you see it on the road and that (cleanliness) speaks a lot on service.

Also saw buses from other companies running with their lights on.

Its good to note na kahit papano unti-unti nang nababago mga driving habits nating mga Pinoy...pansin ko din yan when I used the NLEX last week

its a well known practice although not publicly admitted by bus companies, especially biyaheng Bicol. mas mahal kung bubuhayin ang biktima, hospitalization and such. sad but totoong yan ang rason nila.

havent been to a Victory bus, pero they always look clean Philtranco kse ang byahe ko

this topic always comes up every so often...if this is true, then that bus driver is committing murder or attempted murder when he backs the bus over the victim. and if the bus company is sanctioning this and makes it a policy (whether official or "unofficial") then the company and its officers are also guilty of the same crime (or is it "conspiracy to commit"?)

eto ang loophole/defense ng driver kapatid:

driver: I backed up to see what I hit (pero the real intention is to run the victim over) then na-atrasan ko yung tao by 'accident'

driver flee the scene to avoid 'kuyog ng baryo.'

its hard to prove until the driver admits he/she intentionally run the victim to ensure death.

then, company asks the driver "magtago ka muna habang ina-ayos ang kaso. kapag settled na ang kaso, balik ka na lang"

hindi naman agad agad maniniwala ang husgado dahil nakita natin sa tsikot.com or sinabi ng kapit-bahay natin ang modus operandi na to.

    hence, libre na ang driver.

    trust me, it's true.

i agree that this would be difficult to prove in court. but it's still murder

dapat may mag-expose sa mga bus lines...basa ng emails or documents (maybe someone is stupid enough to write this kind of stuff down)....o kaya kumuha sila ng undercover agent:bond:

Ang kultutra kasi ng pinoy, "walang paki" similar to NIMBY. Para kasi sa iba, malaking abala yung tetestigo ka pa, eh hindi naman sila directly affected, tapos sa yo pang gastos (pamasahe at oras). Also, baka balikan ka pa ng akusado, madamay pa pamilya mo.

So, rather than get involved, "wa paki" na lang.

    Sad but true.

at the time of the accident, hindi pa alam ni ianne ang modus operandi. ianne was informed by his/her relative of the 'ALLEGED' modus operandi after the accident. Im assuming, he/she was told when ianne got home. notice the word "DAW" was extensively used by ianne.

post #51 and #52 should explain it

it's a case of he said she said.

    Sorry kung OT.

When I was in highschool, I actually witnessed a bus running over a drunk who crossed a street. The horror of the incident was that the bus was running slow, just about 20 mph! I was in a jeepney going the other direction. The man got run over by the front left wheel and it was just about 5 meters away from me.

I even saw the face of the driver. I know he was aware that his wheel was going over the chest of the man and he was like cringing! The bus was not airconditioned and he has his window opened. It traumatized me for days as I heard the ribs of the man cracking!

The bus just continued running and the left double wheels at the back ran over the body too! I remember the legs and arms of the guy shaking involuntarily but I was sure he was dead! It happened infront of a beerhouse and there were a lot of witnesses and the police station was just about half a kilometer away. The jeepney I was riding on never stop and there were about 6 of us riding and all of us saw the incident. I later learned that the driver turned himself in at the police station.

That incident gave credence to me what everybody was talking about that the bus drivers of that company make sure that their victims die in the accident! The problem is how do you prove that in court?
