In my home town in Baguio City, usually two short honks means "Thank You". Example, pinag-bigyan mo makapasok 'yung taxi (or any vehicle), two short honks ang sagot nila. So I do the same, kung pinag-bigyan ako, I'll honk two short times.

But here in Metro Manila, none. xD Kahit mga kapit bahay mo sa subdivision, pag-bigyan mo, nothing. It seems "thank you" is a non-existent gesture here. Anyhow, I honk two short times kahit saan ako mapunta kung pinag-bigyan ako.

:D galing ako Baguio kahapon, lupit umovertake nung Honda Jazz, medyo napa-slow down talaga ako.

Ako nagwawave or nagbubusina ng isang maiksi. Kaso minsan, gaya ni dhisky, napapadiin ako sa busina kaya mejo napapahaba yung busina. Haha.

    Good day po!

For example, changing lanes ng left or right kapag sa EDSA, I flash my hazard lights thrice to say thank you.

Yung iba nalilito yata, bigla lumiliko.

If ever I see one na nag flash ng hazard lights thrice, nakakatuwa siguro.

Few times ginawa ko yan, I don't think they understood the gesture. Yes, I couple of short honks will do.

communicating thank-yous with the hazard lights, is the prefered language in a culture that abhors noise.

They do this in South Korea. They flash their hazard lights when you let them get into your lane.

Use your Hazard Lights as "thank you" or "sorry".
