A while ago (around 3am today), I hailed a Nissan Sentra Simpson Taxicab Plate TXF-245 along Jupiter Street, Makati. Here's my experience:

The moment I got in the cab, the driver greeted me "Good morning sir! Saan po tayo?" That statement alone made me smile. I said my destination then we took off. While driving me and the driver had a little chit-chat (travel time was about 5 mins only). The moment I arrived at my destination (I was not in a hurry), the driver and I wasn't finished with the topic and we spent about 2 more minutes to wrap up. The driver was very polite and nice to talk to. My fare was Php45 and I gave him Php50 and said to keep the change. He said, "Thank you po sir! Ingat po kayo and God bless!". I said likewise.

It's really nice to encounter taxi drivers like him nowadays. It's unfortunate that I forgot to get his name. I will call the taxi operator first thing tomorrow to let them know that they have a driver that is a role model for cabbies and let them know that I was very pleased with the service.

Kayo? do you have any similar experience taking a cab and actually be pleased with the service?

Generally bro.,- mababait ang mga FX na taxi sa Baguio, based on our limited experience (2x a year lang kaming napunta roon for a few days....)...

TAI taxi naman sa akin, when I attended a management seminar in Makati a couple of weeks ago.... I don't want to drive in Makati for obvious reasons....

I told the taxi driver that he can come back for me at around 5PM after the seminar. So, I gave him my mobile number, and he did the same, too. Half an hour before we were dismissed, I texted him. Apparently, he is far from the area so he took the initiative of paging their dispatcher so that another cab can pick me up.... Moreover, he even called my mobile phone to tell me that another cab is on its way for me.... Well,- that's service.....

My sis' driver of 2 years was a cab driver of my bro in law whom he just conversed with. The guy said he had been wanting to move out of cabs kasi daw sobrang tagal nila magmaneho pero minsan hirap pa maka boundary!

My sis hired him and he was a revelation. Vourteous, prompt, maingat mag drive (maingat pa sa bro in law ko), at malinis sa sasakyan. In fact, wala akong masabi sa kanya other than he doesn't seem to like taking baths.

Pero mukhang as far as public transport is concerned, yung sistema nila of operating and paying ang nakakadagdag sa gulo, kundi man sanhi nito.

I surely hope dumami pa lalo dito sa atin ang mga courteous and professional taxi drivers . ang gandang pakinggan kung may mga ok na driver sa kalsada, sana naman maging general rule sila instead of being the exception.

My experience was in Davao almost 6 years ago. Most of the taxi drivers, if not all were courteous. It has been a habit of mine to leave tips or pag may butal, keep the change na... So when I got off I had a change of around P 4.00 and the driver said he had no change. Sabi ko OK lang, nevermind. I was surprised sa reaction ng driver na taos pusong pasasalamat niya for that amount. Samantala dito sa Manila.....(sigh).

PLUS, at that time lumabas ang mga new models ng taxi from Daewoo, Toyota etc. I was trying different new models everytime, sa dami nila namimili ako hehe.

It ticks me off pag ang opening spiel ng driver pag pasok mo, "ser bahala na kayo magdagdag"

I once rode a taxi (POLANNE) from the airport. I had to immediately attend to some business and left my bag containing an expensive camera, money and files. Buti na lang the village guard noted the make and name of the cab. I got the number online and got my stuff the next day at their garage in caloocan. Walang nawala.

Kudos to these guys! I'm sure maraming stories na ganito na hindi nalalagay sa media.

Ito last December 16 2011. I was from Somerset Millennium Plaza in Makati and I walked pa sa isang street then a cab saw me. Tas dahil mabait siya (nagusap pa kami along the way), pag dating sa Bonifacio High Street (dun ako bumaba), ang basa sa metro is P120 pero i gave him P150, tutal pasko naman din.

while just descending from alabang flyover, the cable clip of my ride snapped so I have to pull-over at the left side, which is quite a tight spot and unsafe place to be, especially so I have my family with me. I was feeling helpless at that time cause I don't know how I can fix the car without me leaving them to buy the lost clip. Just then a taxi cab stopped and the driver alighted to hand me an 'alambre.' After I thanked him profusely, he just smiled and went back to his cab and drove off. I wasn't even able to get his name and the plate number of the cab. Luckily, I was able to apply a quick-fix through the alambre. Mabuhay ka Mr. cab driver for being an angel of the highway. Until now, I have with me the alambre as souvenir...12 years ago which I remember was an "Easter"

I will never forget my taxi experience last December 2011. I took the cab at megamall, he greeted me "heeeello sir, san po?" natuwa ako so i replied "heyyyy manong, lsgh lang po" So when we got to my destination, sabi nya "sir may payong ako dito, payungan kita?" (kasi it was raining hard), sabi ko hindi na since may payong rin yung guard, yun na lang. My fare was 47.00, gave him some more coins pa.

Buti pa yung mga ganitong drivers, kahit walang daya sa metro, at least sobra pa din sa nakasulat sa metro ang natatanggap nila dahil sa tips ng passengers na napapangiti nila.

I had good experiences in taxis in Cebu. The good thing there is most establishments give you a small sheet of paper with contact numbers of traffic agencies + the taxi plate number in case you get into any problem with them. Plus the ones we rode were generally nice and helpful to tourists. Close to Singapore nga ang impression ko e, haha! Pero, not sure if everyone else here had the same experience.

Naalala ko pa yung last year nagbigay ang sekyu ng Ayala Center Cebu noong sumakay kami sa taxi. SOP din sa ibang pasahero

Baka mas maraming pera dito compared sa labas, I think.

Pero sa Iloilo, some of the taxi drivers drive recklessly. Sumisingit at hindi nagigigve way sa intersection.
