cHEAPER BY 3 PETOT PER LITER DAW!! Ano kaya ito? 87 octane?

    http://business.inquirer.net/money/b...-farm-machines

MANILA, Philippines -- In a bid to make cheap gasoline available to more Filipinos, oil giant Petron Corp. will sell starting this Friday its Petron Pinoy Gasoline brand—a more affordable gasoline formulation for public utility vehicles, bancas and farm equipment.

According to the oil company, the Petron Pinoy Gasoline is cheaper by P3 a liter compared to regular gasoline. Data from the Department of Energy showed that as of Aug. 17, prices of gasoline ranged from P40.35 a liter to P41.80 a liter.

This brand of cheaper gasoline, according to Petron, is the company’s response to the plea of the transport groups and other sectors, which are currently burdened by the high cost of fuels.

“Ang Petron Pinoy Gasoline ay ang gas para sa taong bayan. Ikaw ay makakatipid at siguradong maraming pasada (The Petron Pinoy Gasoline is gasoline for the masses. You will be able to save a lot and increase your productivity),” said Petron chair and CEO Ramon S. Ang, in a statement.

Ang explained that the Pinoy Gasoline is an initiative of the country’s biggest oil refiner and retailer to help cushion the impact of high fuel prices especially on the marginalized sectors of society.

“As the only Filipino-owned refiner, it was incumbent upon us to develop this gasoline brand and help our countrymen,” Ang further said.

By Friday (Aug. 20), the Petron Pinoy Gas will be available in the following seven stations in Fairview, Quezon City; Ortigas Ave. Ext., Cainta; Bgy. Sipsipin, Jala Jala, Rizal; Malhacan, Meycauayan, Bulacan; Bolinao, Pangasinan; Mariveles, Bataan; and Ubando, Bulacan.

Two more stations in Sierra Madre, along EDSA and Zapote Road, Las Piņas are expected to carry the cheap brand of gasoline by Sunday (Aug. 22).

Petron assured its customers that it plans to soon make available the Pinoy Gasoline in more of its service stations to reach more consumers.

Other than the octane rating, ano kaya ito? e10 or pure gasoline? Sana may specs na ipalabas ang Petron....

At sana, tapatan ito ng UniOil, SeaOil, PTT at ng iba pa para maganda ang competition....

    So...

    No OPSF.

    No government coercion.

No strikes or threats of mass transport group action.

A private company... on its own... has come up with a cheaper fuel product.

    Gotta love the free market.

Question is the octane... many older taxis may be able to run on 87... but I'm not sure if EFI taxis from the late 90s onwards will.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Even if the gasoline is P4/L cheaper than E10 gasoline, it is still more expensive than Auto-LPG.

So I don't think the majority of taxi-cabs will be running on this Petron Pinoy Gasoline.

do EFI cars have fuel maps for crappy gas?

if you put that gasoline in an EFI car, sigurado the knock sensor will be working overtime

Up to a point, only. Most Japanese EFIs require between 92-95 RON. As they get older, they get more sensitive... some even knock on "95".

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

4G33 din ang engine nung owner-type jeep namin. We use the XCS (or Premium kung sa Shell). No harm in trying the e-10 sabi ng mechanic namin. I hope he's right.

But frankly, takot akong gamitin ang e-10 sa mga cars namin. I will likely to stick with the "nakagawian" ng fuel, XCS or Blaze.

XCS already contains E10. it's the Blaze that is still unblended.
