Kudos to our local Government and MMDA.

For his part, Fernando bared his traffic reduction plans for Cavite which include :

o Clear sidewalks of vendors and other forms of obstruction and sidewalk rehabilitation -- eto nakikita ko na
o Widening of Aguinaldo Highway -- eto nakikita ko na din
    o Install U-Turn slots
    o Construct footbridges
o Adopt geometric improvements and install traffic fixtures and signages
Dami na nilang binakbak na bahay sa gilid nang Talaba and ung stretch nang Aguinaldo Hi-way sa Bacoor.

MMDA Starts Traffic Reduction Schems in Cavite

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has started clearing roads and highways of Cavite of structures and other forms of obstruction that tend to impede the flow of traffic in Bacoor and other thoroughfares leading to and from the province.

Clearing operations group personnel have started the removal of illegal structures such as “talaba”(oyster) vending stalls, barangay halls and outposts, center islands, including traffic lights and signages, on E. Aguinaldo Highway from SM to Talaba flyover, Gen. Evangelista from Aguinaldo to Panapaan, Aguinaldo from Tropical Hut to Bacoor public market, Evangelista from national Highway to Aguinaldo Highway, Niog St. and Zapote Kabila Road from Bacoor public Market to Alabang Zapote preparatory to the full implementation of the agency’s traffic reduction plans in Cavite.

Neomi Recio, chief engineer of the MMDA Traffic Engineering Center’s (TEC) planning and design division, said that the agency will implement a roundabout or loop scheme to ensure a continuous, non-stop and no delays at intersections flow of vehicular traffic on the three kilometer stretch of Aguinaldo Highway to the Talaba flyover.

Recio formed part of TEC engineers led by Director Ramon Ona who have conducted traffic simulation tests in the said areas to find out whether the proposed loop traffic scheme will help reduce traffic in Bacoor.

They presented their findings of the said traffic simulation tests to Cavite barangay leaders yesterday which indicate that with the adoption of the proposed loop scheme, the current average travel time in Bacoor-Cavite areas during morning peak hours will be reduced from 16 minutes and 30 seconds to only five minutes and six seconds.

On the other hand, the same tests noted that travel speed stands to increase from 18.370 kilometers per hour to 29.809 kilometers per hour during the same peak hours.

Recio said that immediately after the clearing operations, the MMDA is set to undertake road widening projects; geometric improvements on intersections; construction of U-Turn slots; road repairs; sidewalk rehabilitation; drainage improvement installation of signages, lane markings and street lightings; construction of loading bays and footbridges; and opening of new public utility vehicle terminals.

The MMDA hopes to complete the entire traffic reduction package in Cavite in one year’s time.

President Arroyo has directed MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando to extend the agency’s traffic management duties to Cavite following complaints from motorists of the horrendous traffic situation there day in and day out.

Businessmen have also complained that their businesses have slackened due to the slow delivery and transport of their goods brought about by the traffic gridlock in Cavite.

MMDA , Cavite and Las Piñas Top Brass Finalize Traffic Reduction Plans

Cavite and Las Piñas top officials today welcomed the move of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to assist them in traffic management particularly in the town of Bacoor leading to Metro Manila.

Cavite Gov. Erineo Maliksi, Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar and Mayor-Elect lauded the MMDA’s move to help ease the high volume of vehicular traffic on Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite and Coastal Road on the boundaries of Las Piñas and Bacoor as “long overdue but a big help” to entangle the traffic gridlock on the said areas leading to and from Cavite.

“We wouldn’t mind the MMDA coming to our rescue insofar as traffic management is concerned because they are widely-acclaimed traffic experts,” Maliksi told MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, his traffic and technical personnel and representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways during this morning’s inspection tour of perennially traffic-prone areas.

President Arroyo has reportedly directed Fernando to extend the agency’s traffic management duties to Cavite following complaints from motorists of the dreadful traffic situation there day in and day out.

Maliksi said businessmen have also complained that their businesses have slackened due to the slow delivery and transport of their goods brought about by the traffic snarls in Cavite and Las Piñas.

“ It takes three to four hours for our delivery trucks to reach their areas of destination when normally they can do it in 30 minutes only,” Maliksi, Villar and Aguilar jointly told the MMDA chief.

For his part, Fernando bared his traffic reduction plans for Cavite which include :

o Clear sidewalks of vendors and other forms of obstruction and sidewalk rehabilitation
    o Widening of Aguinaldo Highway
    o Install U-Turn slots
    o Construct footbridges
o Adopt geometric improvements and install traffic fixtures and signages

They got to fix the traffic in front of Yazaki...I blame the jeeps and buses kc.

Then the intersection in front of Athena Classique at Anabu II,that shortcut going to Daang Hari from Aguinaldo Highway, that intersection is dangerous, it needs a traffic enforcer.

But Good job, they're finally noticing the traffic here, hehehe. Minsan, I think it's more traffic here than in Manila.

this is great news, sana lang wag tumigil sa road widening, also dapat mag deploy na ng mga traffic marshals na manghuhuli ng mga walang disiplina sa kalye, yung mga naka motor para kaya manghabol. kung minsan kasi ang cause din ng traffic is lack of discipline ng mga road users.

ever notice when (during rush hour in the day or afternoon) while cruising, then suddenly nag stop na, siguradong meron at merong moron na magsimula sa pagcounter flow, even its very obvious na may kahabaan na yung pile ng traffic. Its proven na everyday, ganyan ang buhay sa cavite, nung mga buwaya sa kalye.

to make matter worse, kapag completely blocked out na yung opposite lane, which of course causes this monstrous traffic, at may darating na traffic aide, what he'll do is prioritize yung mga aholes na nag counter flow para mag ease up yung traffic without even bothering to issue ticket.

in fairness to Chair. Fernando, all the efforts they have done in Metro Manila so far is fine. like sa Quirino Hiway in Nova. before Fernando, grabe ang traffic from Mindanao ave. going to Nova. Bayan, via Quirino Hiway, pero after malagyan ng U-turn slot sa intersection ng Quirino and Mindanao nawala na yung stop-and-go during rush hour. nag-road widening din sila. Now, the Quezon City Government started concreting the Quirino Road all the way from EDSA to NoValiches. the last time I passed-by, almost finish na yung Baesa, QC. I could just imagine the improvement of the Qurino HWay after this construction. So lets give the MMDA a chance to improve the traffic in Cavite, wag na natin bigyan ng ibang issue like pati pag palit ng pangalan ng agency, wala naman maitutulong yun.
