Soto stops Bobby Pacquiao in seventh

NEW YORK (AFP) - Humberto Soto stopped Bobby Pacquiao, of the Philippines, in the seventh round of their super featherweight fight Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

Soto hit Pacquiao with a left hook to the body that caused the younger brother of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao to drop to one knee in the corner of the ring. The fight was officially stopped at 1:48 of the seventh.

Soto threw a straight right hand moments earlier that hurt Pacquiao and buckled his knees.
Manny Pacquiao was at ringside to watch Bobby's (27-13-3, 12 KOs) performance.

Soto (42-5-2, 26 KOs) three 297 punches to Pacquiao's 204. Boxing fans at ringside wondered if Manny might consider fighting fight Soto soon to try and avenge his brother's defeat.
