Friends don’t let friends drive drunk. If we could only just live by that golden rule, we could go a long way in preventing the 480,000 deaths and 20 million serious injuries a year that the World Health Organization (WHO) credit solely to drunk drivers around the world. But we don’t. Because as simple and noble as it all sounds, let’s get real here: when push comes to shove, the sad reality is that most friends will cave in––either to avoid an ugly confrontation or a major inconvenience––and I would be a complete hypocrite if I did not include myself among those who have turned a blind eye, and worse, driven myself home when I knew it was no longer safe.

You know the scene. You’re out at a bar, a friend’s place, wherever. Everyone’s buzzed. But the manly thing to do is to get up, act straight, and pick out someone that looks worse than you and say, “Pare, ok ka lang?” So long as we hear the bare minimum: “Ok pa, bro. I’ll just be careful” We’re good with that. It’s a verbal disclaimer.

Short version for those too lazy to click through:

Drunk? Call 16911. They'll send you a driver to take you home. Fee similar to airport taxi service.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

We have our own version of that but Lifeline beat us to the draw. Hehe. Oh well, there's enough of the pie for everyone.

Still under wraps, but suffice to say, we arent sponsored by Chevy and wont be driving around in a Spark.

    alternative number 839-2520 to 30

i don't mind driving and dropping them off whenever the people i'm with are intoxicated but it gets too tedious to be the designated chauffeur all the time. now cash for the service rendered wouldn't be bad either.

i hope this project becomes a commercial success because a taxi ride when you're drunk, and you're a female sounds dubious enough you'd rather pay premium for a track-trained driver to do that job for you.

Just recently I encountered an accident in San Juan I was driving along A. Mabini St., I think still in mandaluyong when a Honda Civic hit my SUV from behind turns out the driver was drunk.

This is what happened to her civic.

The driver was an FHM Model, I think came from a party of some sort.

Mukhang hindi na niya maitatakbo ang kanyang Civic.

You are right bro.,- dapat maraming gumamit ng service na ito, kaysa mapahamak and worse, mandamay pa ng iba sa kalye.....

If James Deakin is willing to have his Toyota 86 driven by someone else in the name of safety,- what's with my run-of-the-mill rides?

walang kwenta naman yan solution. why not just do it the American way. each driver's license is tied up to insurance. kung mas marami bangga / accidents, mas malaki ang insurance premium for life. even this idea will benefit all of us, kasi pati PUVS ngaun mapipilitan na mag-insure at mapapabayad.

mas malaki pa kikitain ng gobyerno dito coz kung ipapalakad mo ito sa mga fixers to clear your records, pera pera din.

sobrang laki pera iikot dito and I just can't seem to understand why our politicians are missing this lucrative business.

And the driver and the victim/s could be anybody's loved one/s... It could be anyone here, too...
