Carjacker arrested at EDSA mall

A carjacker was caught redhanded while trying to commandeer a luxury vehicle at the carpark of Trinoma Mall along EDSA in Quezon City Monday.

Operatives from Quezon City Police District Station 2 arrested a certain Rolly Brugsay after he boarded a Mitsubishi Pajero owned by Felipe Tan.

A security guard said he alerted the police after he spotted Brugsay and two other suspects prowling in the carpark.

Police are still looking for Brugsay's two companions.

Suspected carjackers killed in QC

Three suspected carjackers were killed in a gunbattle with police near White Plains subdivision in Quezon City early Monday.

Elements of Task Force Limbas said the suspects fired at their vehicle after refusing to stop their Hyundai Starex van (XGY-494) at a checkpoint outside the subdivision. A firefight ensued, which left all three suspects dead.

Police said the van's license plates were stolen from a Toyota Corolla. They said the suspects allegedly posed as policemen before seizing cars from their victims.

Authorities have yet to determine if the carjackers were connected to a criminal syndicate operating in Fairview.

Magaling yung sekyu ng TriNoMa, may presence of mind. Naisumbong agad yung mga umaali-aligid na carnappers sa parking area.

That's why it's never a good idea to leave the parking ticket/card inside the vehicle. Assuming that carnappers are able to break into the vehicle and manage to drive it, hindi pa rin sila makakalabas ng parking area without proof of ownership (unless they already came equipped with a forged OR/CR beforehand).
