The New Tsikot Experience: TCash, TPeso and TMarket

Turning ten years old next year, the tsikot community has evolved from a simple, free-script forum composed only of hundreds of members to be the largest online community of Filipino car enthusiasts here and abroad. It has become more than a forum, but a breathing and growing community which serve as a comfotable vehicle for car reviews, car-maintenance tips and troubleshooting, buy and sell classifieds and maybe just a venue to talk about anyhting under the sun.

It has weathered a lot of difficulties ranging from frequent downtimes and unstable servers to near extinction. However, mid-May 2011, Tsikot.com finally migrated to its own servers under its own domain, tsikot.com. A new dawn has broken with faster speed, better uptime and new features.

With renewed vigor, tsikot.com is rolling out a series of features and functions to further improve the Tsikot Experience. A community is more than just a bunch of posts threaded together, it is more. It is composed of its members who come in and go, who post or just lurk around. Each member is different and does different activities within the forums - asking around, giving help and tips, explaining automotive concepts, tagging threads, linking to valuable resources, posting informative images, etc.

Introducing Tsikot Cash (TCash) - the Tsikot.com's internal system of rewarding active members with each and everything they do in and for the community. TCash is a virtual point system that rewards members for their worthwhile activity like posting threads and how much they are read or liked, social groups they formed or joined, number of threads they have tagged, how many days they have been online, etc. Aside from the TCash that these active members accumulate, they will also earn different awards and achievements highlighting their contributions to the community. These activities, awards and achievements are all summarized here.

In short, the more a member contributes to the well-being of the community the more he will be rewarded with TCash which he can spend on the Tsikot market.

The Tsikot Market (TMarket) simply stated is the virtual market where members can use the Tcash they earned for additional features and functions like signatures, avatars, colored usernames and titles, and other priveleges. This in effect will be rewarding active members with distinction and individuality. Aside from these, they can also use the TCash for fun activities like betting on certain TBookie events, gifitng each other with virtual gifts, etc.

The Tsikot Peso (TPeso) on the other hand is Tsikot.com's virtual currency that will be used to procure advertising privileges within the active community like sticky threads, commercial signatures, premium banner space, etc. It will also be used for the eventually opening of Tsikot.com Merchandise Market where various tsikot items will be sold.

Since members will be rewarded with the time they have been registered, the amount of time they have been online, the number of their threads created and replies and other activities, and with the new TCash system in place, all members (old and new) will be reset back to the base usergroup.

Members who have accumulated enough points can enhance their profiles by using their TCash in procuring avatars, signatures, colored usernames, customized and colored user titles, etc.

We do believe that this new system helps address the problems of spammers, when new members register, put on an avatar and signature promoting their products and start spamming the forums for maximum exposure. This is prevented since new members without TCash don't have enough TCash for avatars and signatures.

A non-commercial sig with avatar (Basic Avatar and Signature Package) is only 300 TCash per 90 days or 100 TCash per month. TCash need not be bought, it can be earned via doing ordinary (but worthwhile) activities within Tsikot Forums - posting, replying tagging threads, liking posts, referring new members, etc. This we believe will encourage members to be more than just lurkers and opt to contribute to the community via valuable content, information and activities.

But if a member is in a hurry and would like to have an avatar and a non-commercial signature, he can buy this via safe and secure Paypal through the online currency converter and the conversion is:

1USD = 1,000 TCash. So approximately, paying just 1 USD or around 42 pesos can buy him 10 months of avatar/non-commercial signature.

This is less than P0.15 or 15 centavos a day! Likewise, why should the member spend when he can just wait, contribute to the community via worthy activities.

On the other hand, if the member does want to promote his products and services, he should opt for a Premium Avatar and Signature Package which can be bought only via TPeso, which is bought from the online converter.

1 TPeso = 1 PHP or in USD currency (Paypal): 1 USD = 40 TPeso.

A Premium Avatar and Signature Usergroup Package (commercial) is only 100 TPeso or 100 pesos per 30 days. So doing calculations, 1 month of avatar and commercial sig is only around 2.5 USD or just around P3.33 a day.

Totoo naman na hindi sila deserving. If I were an admin, I wouldn't want my forum site to be overrun by idiots. But that's just my humble opinion. Isipin mo, pwede kang i-ban ng isang postwhore mula sa isang thread?

Sounds a very cool idea. Joining today couldn't get any better! However, I haven't gotten my points yet after purchasing them for 5 dollars. Any ideas?
