good day everyone! a relative of mine is new to cars and is very interested in getting an SX4 Crossover as a daily driver. she is asking any feedback about this particular car:
    1. fuel consumption
    2. parts/maintenance cost
    3. reliability
    4. known issues/defects, usual problems
    5. ownership experience

    thanks so much in advance

i agree na look for other cars. hindi naman dahil sa brand. ang mahal ng sx4 for it's specs and body. mas mura pa lancer o kaya much higher na ecosport

Yup, I agree. But the same goes for other vehicles such as Rav4 and Santa Fe na overpriced. There's a reason kung bakit sa Suzuki thread sya nagpost. Hindi naman sa 'Car Comparison' threads. Well hindi naman sa namumulis. :D

It is a small crossover, sedan na pinataas and nothing more. Pwede kung yun lang ang budget pero...

Yung tapat bahay namin may bagong red sx4 sila a few months ago, sinoli na yata di ko na nakikita e pinalitan ng new lancer ex. So hint mo na yun, bakit i-trade in ang few months old car kung maganda?

Bought a preowned sx4 about 2 months ago. I was choosing between a kia soul and this since they can be bought at around half a million and i wanted a small crossover so ecosport is out of the options since i did not have a budget for a brand new car. What can i say it about it? I think it's a nice utility car which you can use everday for daily commute with the economy of a 1.6liter but like driving a mini-suv which means you dont feel the lubak and all unlike when driving a compact car. The interior space is not as big but thats expected but i like the dahsboard since it is very simple plus everytjing is in black. I think i made a good decision buying it and selling our small car. I use it as my daily commute and it cna be used for long trips like tagaytay.

I dont know why suzuki is being bashed depsite it being made in japan and a cbu as well. It is a good deal if you buy preowned since it has low resale value even if its a quality car and most people dont get it. Buying brand new though may not be a good idea though since i think the ford ecosport is a better car than the two.

to rate the car in comparison to its acquisition cost:
    i would rate it 8/10.
i have mine going on eight years next month. no major issues, maintenance is minimal. it has a 2.0 liter engine, four speed auto. the only parts replaced; 1-front brake pads, 2-tail light bulb. maintenance expenses are tires and routine oil/filter change, cabin air filter and wiper blade inserts.
two drawbacks; 1- the hood shakes when at idle in gear(maybe for the first version), 2-the exhaust pipe (stainless steel exhaust system) flex coupling flange shifted and was hitting the lower floor board about two inches of passenger left foot area. in summary, i am satisfied with its performance.

Fuel consumption is around 7-8km per liter in heavy bumper to bumper rush hour traffic which i go thru everyday going to makati from ortigas.

Do take note that this SX4 is a euro-rebadged car, it's originally a Fiat last time I went to Europe.

Personally, I would only buy it if I'm one of those who bought the Peugeot cars lately.

Own a 2011 sx4, no problems so far. Handling is good, power to weight ratio can easily be felt. Drives like a car but with seating position upright sort of like an suv. Headroom is higher than average. Drawback is that since it is all japan, parts are not as readily available as lets say a toyota, so you have to order from the casa. Plus resale value isnt that high.
