Hi to all, we have a 2011 Swift AT acquired at Suzuki Kalookan, ganyan din ang problema, me nagtutunugan sa ilalim kahit na konting lubak lang, 10k pa lang milage, ang problema sa labas din kami nag c-change oil so walang aasahan sa warranty claim, baka pwede i share nyo dito kung saan ang recommended/ magaling gumawa na shop na napagawaan nyo at kung magkano po lahat inabot, tnx.

we really like the swift, (poor man's mini coper) matipid sya, actually dalawa swift namin isang 2009 model yung mas maliit, acquired from Suzuki Kalookan also, tsaka itong 2011 (larger body) kasi nga solid yung 2009 model, mabilis, matibay, pulido ang gawa kaya akala namin yung latest model ay ganun din, kaso palpak pang ilalim, at worst ayaw aminin ng casa at mag recall.

Thanks direk for the reply! Hope you don't mind sharing some details of the repair, replaced parts and cost . It will be helpful when we have our swift checked at jervy's.

sir whitemonty. you are right. the only Achilles' heel of the 2011 Suzuki swift is the underpinnings. the casa knows it but does not want to admit it. na experienced ko ung kalampag ng swift ko as early as below 1000kms, prior to my first pms pero ang sabi ng casa they performed an inspection & tightened all the bolts, pero hindi pa rin nawala.

it turned out madaling masira ang rack ends, tie rod ends, ball joints, suspension bushing & stabilizer. during that time its either nagbubulag bulagan ang casa na hindi nila alam na may problema ang model na eto or hindi talaga nila alam ang gagawin. pero tingin ko they should perform a recall. para ng saganun mawala ang agam agam na tanga ang mekaniko ng casa at hindi nila alam ang ginagawa nila plus the brands names' trust must be redeemed. maanong aminin mo na may problema talaga at ayusin mo at icorrect ang problema. walang mawawala, I would even commend them if they would do so, for their courage to admit an engineering flaw that was corrected later on. kasya ganito ang daming agam agam ang mga would be or prospective buyers.

sana hindi ganun ang newly released 2014 Suzuki swift 1.2 at Ertiga since they share almost identical under chassis platforms.

    thanks.

more pictures. the car appears to be lowered due to the smaller clearance from the wheel well due to the 17" after market mag wheels. the map light was stock oem from lancer gt-a. the car handling improved after the mods. however, i noticed a little sluggishness from the usual sprightly acceleration. hindi ko na tinitingnan ang fuel consumption ng swift dahil alam ko matipid pa rin siya compared to other brands.

Nice setup! Thanks for sharing the details of the repair done on your unit. I also want 17" rims, but it would only happen once the rattling/noise is resolved.

What's the specs of your tires? Increased fuel consumption and slower acceleration are due to 17" rims?

Thanks sir brf. My current tire specs is 215x24x17. I think the wheels is a factor due to it's added weight, as compared to the stock of 185x55x16.

Hi direk! Is it 215x45x17 or 215x40x17? Very noticeable yun slower acceleration? Tolerable?

Typo it should have been 215x45x17. Hindi naman siya noticeable but it's our car, alam natin un, na bumagal ang acceleration niya from stand still and of course given the fact that it's a bigger size compared to stock. for me it's no big deal. Though you can look for a lighter alloy wheels naman just in case you decide to go on 17. Sa akin kasi I like the style of the rims.

Specs noted. Sakto sya, parang na minimized yun fender gap. How's the ride comfort? Di naman tumagtag? What's the mags offset? No rubbing or scraping?

So far the ride comfort is the same, hindi siya tumagtag no rubbing on wheel wells, & best of all the traction was much better.

My 2013 Swift was diagnosed at Suzuki Makati. Their recommendation is rack and pinion assembly replacement. Casa said they will facilitate warranty claim.

17s rims pogi talaga, mas bagay din may lip like yung euro BBS copy mags, drawback is on the take off, mejo na delay na, kaya parang bumagal, but it can still reach 120 to 140kph quick from a stop, and for city driving negligible na yan delay, tapos mas maganda sa lubak ang malaking gulong, lastly sa rekta mas matipid na din since pag naka bwelo na, isang revolution nya (ikot) mas malayo distance kesa sa stock, yun nga lang di na accurate yun odometer by a small percentage.

sir monty you're right. I like the handling of my swift now compared before. speed wise it could easily reach past 140kph given the fact na manual siya. mine I slapped it with 17" momo & nankang super sport rubbers.

sir ali, not sure if we have the same problem. may be you read in the earlier part of this thread about my dilemma whether to go back to casa after the reoccurrence of the underchassis problem of my 2012 swift. after weighing all the possible options I decide not to, kasi hindi nila nagawa ng tama yong problema ng sasakyan. sabi ko nga baka hindi talaga nila alam ang problema or nagtatanga tangahan lang sila so that they could claim repair fee from Suzuki Philippines everytime our car goes on for a repair, so long the car still under warranty & after the warranty tayo na ang magbabayad?

if you decide to have it repaired sa casa might as well have them check all your underchassis parts such as the tie rod ends, stabilizer bushings, rack ends & the arm assembly bushings etc. eto mga na encounter kung problems before na hindi nila na address. aside from the steep pms charges (na mas mahal pa sa 86 hay!!) the car is fun to drive. sabagay wala naman talang perfect the sasakyan. hehe

It's been almost a year since I had my bushings and rack and pinion repaired. So far after around 4 months the same problem re-occured. I think I noticed it after I drove it in somewhere in Bulacan. Newly cemented road after you exit NLEX I think the Pan-Philippine Hwy. It had those vertical speed bumps near the intersections and I think I was cruising around 100 kph every time I went past those things. I haven't brought my vehicle back to Jervy's since because of my busy schedule. I don't know if it got worse or maybe the same as before but If I compare it to our other cars, a 2011 ford fiesta and a 2009 honda city, I feel that the under chassis of my Swift feels like that its made of paper compared to the other's solid feel. I can even feel the "tok-tok" sound on my feet when I'm on the passenger side. I'll bring it back again to Jervy's and have it repaired one last time and if it still recurs, sorry for me. Regarding FC, compared to our 1.6 Fiesta and 1.5 City the Swift is thirstier even though its a 1.4 liter. The FC computer on the Swift is so way off. It reads around 10-11 Km/l but I think it's around 8-9 Km/l. For the two cars 20 liters can go past 200 kms till the gas indicator turns on but on my swift for 20 liters and in around 180 km the gas warning will light up. I also think the turning radius of the swift has the widest of them all even with our older cars like the vios and corolla. I notice it when I make a U-Turn going to my office. The other cars simply make the turn with lots of space from the gutter. With the swift its either my front rim will almost hit the gutter or I have to back up again to complete the turn. Kinda odd for a small car I think.
But on a positive note, for me the Swift has the most comfortable driver seat. I took it to Baguio last May with my family (my wife and 2 kids). The kids said that the backseat was comfortable enough for our long trip. I never felt small driving it on the expressway even when I was overtaking buses and trucks. It had power, never felt that it lacked any even on Kennon road.
Well I just want to share my story. (Medyo napahaba yata. Hehe.) But to all the Swift owners like what sir DIREK said "wala naman talagang perfect na sasakyan" But if that "tok-tok" sound would just go away almost perfect na yung swift. I won't mind the FC and turning radius for me the Swift is more fun to drive than my other cars.
Good day to everyone and God Bless.
