first of all thanks for the inquiries ive been receiving since this thread started. slightly sad new though.... slight lang naman. the launch has been moved from may to june. no specific date and day yet but its going to be in june na po. for fuel efficiency... well, definitely itll be as efficient as the present alto that we have. yun nman talaga ang selling point ng alto aside from assurance in quality. exact mileage? no official reports on that though primarily it claims to run about 40 kms per liter for a a combined city and hiway driving. sounds impossible for the present alto with m/t was tested by the d.o.e. and ranked 1st out of 52 different brands of cars and officially ran at 34 kms per liter. true... but we also have to consider power to weight ratio i guess. making the new alto bear a better ratio. now again the claim isnt so much tested yet for it hasnt arrived in our country but i bet, for sure the fuel mileage will be unbeatable with comparison to its direct competitors.

    Bro,

Ask ko lang, what engine oil brand do you use for the alto ad how much? I'm planning kasi to change oil na kasi 5,000km na mileage. Ok lang ba sa petron? shell? Meron din ba sila dun na oil filter?

sa akin kasi doon na ako sa suzuki caloocan nagpapaservice para di mavoid daw yung warranty. Mobil na mineral lang daw ang gamit nila.

by the way, nice article sir zhu.

I would suggest that you use the wheel brakes more than the engine brake. You consume the same amount of fuel whether you use either, while it cost less to have your wheel brakes fixed. Use only your engine brakes on down-hills or on emergencies together with your wheel brakes if neccessary. In slow moving traffic, you can use the engine just to slow down and that will just be fine. Avoid engine lagging, though!

... Drive safely, guys...stay alive and enjoy your Alto!

    Pros muna:

    • dahil sa maliit siya, maraming bagay na cheaper by the price (e.g. fuel consumption, tire, battery, water when cleaning including those waxes to make your Alto shiny, and some parts, I presume)
    • easy to manuever in traffic jams, so you have better edge over regular cars
    • can easily be parked especially on small spaces available
    • very good air-con while in Manila and heater while in Tagaytay or Baguio
    • headlights are adjustable
    • door locks, window raisers, and side mirror controls are easily reached, thus, no need to power them (powers of Deluxe type are usually installed only on front doors & windows)
    • small turning radius
    • My Alto saves me a lot of money (17 km/li consumption) and time compared to my regular Toyota Corolla 1.6 GL
    • the rear wiper - very useful especially when it rains,
    • the radio/CD player - relaxing. So are the rest of the accessories.
    • I don't think carnappers/carjackers would like to take this away from you since Alto can easily be out-run...he he he!

    Cons:

    • Don't expect power. Alto will never win in any race/contest except on fuel consumption efficiency. But surely, Alto can take you anywhere & anytime in comfort.
    • In my observation, its small size absorbs some of the vibrations, just like many cars of its size. Try riding a Chery or a Hundai I10 and other 3-cylinder engine compact cars. Just imagine that you are in an airplane that has just touch down
    • Alto rides only 4 passengers comfortably.
    • No air-bags in case of accidents
    • I changed my horn to a louder set.

Over-all, I am happy with my Alto (standard).

    Hello alto owners,
I'll be joining you guys very, very soon! In an Standard model.
Where can I get a Tachometer for the alto? Stores in banaue offered me "universal" type. They are not sure it will ork for a 3 cylinder car.

    Oh, Merry Christmass to all!
Any dealers which will give me a better deal? I will get it by financing, so far Commonwealth look has the edge. I lived in QC near banaue....

btw, feeling ko parang turbo button yung ac switch kase lalakas ang hatak when i turn it off ehehh. ganun din ba kayo?

That is why I don't like these super small cars... Most of them are Indian made and wala din silang safety standards duon eh...
