according to google, a properly maintained cvt will last 120-160K km of ordinary driving. personally, it seems too under-estimated.
others say 5 years of ordinary driving. i also think this is under-estimated.
i once owned a 10 year old 2003 lancer cedia cvt, with over 100K km on the odometer. it ran fine.
in contrast, i know of MTs whose engines gave out before the trans boxes did.

Mayrun na kaya mga previous gen City/Jazz CVT na umabot ng 150k or 200k mileage?

2008 iDsi City namin for now, naka 90k kms pa lang on the original CVT.

Naka 3 CVTF Changes under Honda. On the 4th year, 7th year and 10th year (April 2019).

Ang minor problem ngayon is a (slight) shudder when full stop while on Drive (approaching stop lights or whatever is blocking forward momentum), only mitigated it seems when using 97 or 100RON na walang Biofuel mix after 3 fill ups (full tank method). T.T

Yun main problem ng model generation na ito was more the Manual Mode sa alam ko sa reports online at the time when we bought it brand new. So, hindi namin ginamit yung NGAGE type buttons on the steering wheel for Manual Mode shifting.

Haha! I think yung shudder is more the discussion nga about prolonged use of biofuels na humihiwalay tubig over time sa tanke causing damage sa engine (components) naman. Kaya nakakalungkot nga kung ganun.

Cleaned na throttle body, checked na din ng Honda yung idling, ignition coils and changed spark plugs na din. Sinabay nung April 2019 PMS. Every three years na namin pinapagawa sa Honda para sabay sa CVTF Change. At least, yun yung naging standard schedule sa ngayon.

First 5 maybe 6 years of ownership, okay pa 91RON. After that, medyo parang alanganin, we moved to 95RON for the past 4 years. Ngayon, mukhang need to go up another price bracket, kaya nakakalungkot pag dating sa fuel. Hays.

Almost daily driven pa din siya (not me) but literal city car na lang siya QC to Makati (3 to 4 times a week). Matipid pa din kaya sayang ibenta since working naman with little issues.

We have a 2004 lancer mx cvt. 148k kms and counting. Ok pa naman cvt nya. Always raring to go on stoplight.
At around 100k a Total mechanic replaced the radiator and placed atf to topup. Drove it 25 kms to make a dialysis and replace the fluid. Ok naman sya till now.

    how's your km/li po?
i sold my cedia mx, because it thought it was a camry or a cefiro. i was getting 5-6 km/li. in metro manila, back when traffic was still bear-able.

1.6 yan right? Yung Lancer MX?

Full tank method with the City. Nung summer this year na walang pasok, umaabot mga around 9km/l.

    To get us further off-topic, here's another kind of CV effort....now w/ 2 Vs.[emoji2957]
How does Hyundai’s Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) System Really Work? - Motor Trend
    CVT still isn't enough?[emoji37]

parang ganito lang para sakin bro
old school AT, may mga gears tipong pag nasira madali palitan yun mga bungi
itong CVT buo papalitan mo, pano pag nasira kasi sasabog metal shrapnel sa loob ng case nya so wasak lahat

feeling ko kahit gamitan mo ng tamang fluid, sooner or later kakalas din yung metal belt nyan. unless marami na cvt na lampas 300k km (like other 90s AT) pwede siguro sumugal, pero wala pa tayo doon eh

Relative to MTs & conventional ATs, the CVT's design requires more frequent, pricier periodic maintenance to extend its expectedly shorter service life. A big win for manufacturers & dealerships.[emoji31]

In honda the AT and CVT has the same frequency and interval in changing the fluid. I think with proper maintenance and driving habits the CVT will last long. The only drawback is it cannot be rebuild unlike AT.

They differ in service life expectancy, & 1 is salvageable, the CVT=disposable.
