    its probably cheaper to go cvt than adding gears to a 4at to meet fuel and emissions requirements.

    on the plus side atleast audi stopped using cvts

    BMW tried w/ gen1 MINIs. Got burnt, discontinied, pledged never again.[emoji21] We'll see.

    that leaves only mazda as sole maker who havent touched cvt (hope never will)

    Greedy corporations. They use cheaper CVTs and when they break down, you’ll need to buy the whole assembly or just buy a new car altogether.

    It’s a win-win situation... for them at least. 😂
