Alto fifth gear problem

Hi there, can anyone tell me how to fix this? Fifth gear just pops out after a while,on our 1 litre 5 door Alto (havent got the year right now) i believe it can be held in with the gearstick, but do you have to get into the gearbox to fix this? Thanks

If the action hasn't changed and the other gears are all right, then that's probably a sign of a worn synchro.

I don't know if the Alto's fifth gear is inside or outside the transmission case... (on the Lynx, it's outside, so you don't have to pull it apart), but either way, you'll have to get under the car and take it apart to have it fixed. Synchros are cheap, but I don't know if the local Suzuki suppliers will have them in stock.
