overdrive means the transmission will have the option to select the highest gear (in our case the 4th). as per red_one's advice, wag nalang i-off kung patag naman ang dadaanan. btw ito yung button doon sa gilid ng shift knob.

another thing regarding sa trip meter, pano ba talaga i set yun para i display nya yung average fuel consumption every time i drive? hindi ko kasi talaga maintindihan yung nasa manual

Thanks so much for putting up with the noob questions! Though moot na pala tanong ko kasi it's been on the entire time -- when I browsed thru the manual I misread the part about the overdrive, I thought that the info display would indicate when it's turned on. Baliktad pala hahaha. Nakita ko lang yung "O/D OFF" when I clicked it earlier. Tapos walang kahit ano kapag naka-activate yung overdrive. *facepalm*

    Pero salamat pa rin!

Overdrive OFF indicator ang nilalagay sa dash to warn you that your are not driving at the most economical way.

Most questions talaga can be answered by reading your owner's manual. Sadly, most owners do not read at all.

The only time you will need to set the Overdrive to OFF is when the A/T keeps shifting to 3rd and 4th gears alternately during uphill/downhill scenario. Kumbaga pansin mong nalilito ung A/T which gear to use. In this case, set Overdrive to OFF para mag-stick na lang siya sa 3rd gear. Pag patag na yung road, set Overdrive back to ON.
bakit in actual performance, ngtry ako going same route overdrive on and overdrive off. mas tipid ung nakaoff ung overdrive, specially pag mabibigat ung sakay. one time my sakay akong 5 persons, 1 front 4 backseat, madiin na tapak ko sa pedal ndi umaangat ung speed, from 70-80 siguro kylangan todo tapak mo sa pedal bgo umangat, di tulad pag nka off ung overdrive hindi ko napapansin 100kph na pla ako. mas feel ko yung hatak while overdrive is off. by experience po. so ano po ang the best? thank you.

Mag-full tank method ka sa pag-compute ng FC. 1 full tank with Overdrive OFF. 1 full tank with Overdrive ON. Then saka mo i-compare.

Overdrive is a term used to describe a mechanism that allows an automobile to cruise at sustained speed with reduced engine speed, leading to better fuel consumption, lower noise and lower wear.

Overdrive (mechanics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If mas enjoy ka mag-drive with Overdrive OFF, then go for it. Your car, your rule.

How do I know if the Overdrive if ON or OFF in my Suzuki Swift (1.2 A/T)? If not, how do I activate it? Where can I possibly locate the button?

Oh dear, so sorry for the inadvertent duplication of entries.
