so best case scenario for me is bumili ng sarili kong pump (additional $$$ nanaman)

    yep. That's my modus too.

THere are times i even pull out the unit out of the truck if i know it will be in the garage for a lengthy amount of time. I just opt to usb charge the tpms from time-to-time on my home ofc desk.

It's a hassle to reset the units and the air tire parameters whenever the tpms monitor loses its juice & dies on me.

I've decided to pull the trigger and ordered the solar powered one with the USB charging option.
I got into the habit of checking each tire manually so I hope this would be a better alternative.
At the same time bought 2 sets (10 pcs.) of CR1632 batteries as they are said to last for only 3~6 months.

Three months ago i bought a cheapo solar tpms on lazada and installed it to one of our service vehicles. After 3 weeks tumawag driver na may audible alarm. It's not the low pressure alarm but the high temp. Pinadala ko agad sa talyer and turns out nag stock ang front left brake caliper piston kaya mabilis numipis brake pad on that wheel. This tpms saved me a rotor.

    errr,
    whypo?

i have been using the stock brass whistles since forever.
ok naman. usual wear and tear.
over the decades, i have had to replace only but a single digit's number.

Hassle tanggal-kabit eh. I just make sure na mahigpit sila bago ako puamsok ng sasakyan.

"Tire pressure and temperature is normal. Enjoy your driving."

Ako Lang naman din kasi top-up ng air every now and then.

Come to think of it, Sa more than 5 years ko gumagamit nitong external tpms, wala naman atang nagka-interest sa sensors ko. Hindi naman din kasi siya eye catching even for a naughty kid - i'm guessing. Pero sabi nga nila, "never say never".

Hehe.

So far sakin din, sa 1 year+ na di na nakakabit yung nut, wala pa naman nagka-interes.

    Ganito yung gamit kong TPMS.

Sa baba nung tire pressure, dun lalabas kung no signal, may leak, high temp, low batt, etc. at magkukulay red yung broken lines na nakapalibot sa circle.

My main concern right now though is yung mga sensor mismo or their effect on the rubber stems.

May nabasa ako na napunit yung rubber ng valve stem or pito due to the sensor weight.
How I wish this was brought up a week ago before ako nagpadala sa sales talk ng mga tsikoteers. ;p

Put adhesive rubber as stopper so the stem doesn't flex at high speeds. Problem solved....

The rear sensor readings are quite accurate. I have the rears inflated to 32psi and sensors read 31~32 psi.
Problem is with the front sensor readings. I have them at 36psi and both are off by 2~3psi.
Temperature reading for the LF is also off. All the sensors are reading 24~28° while LF is at 30~33°C.
I tried swapping sensors at yung rear sensors do read the fronts correctly at 36psi.

I went with the external one mostly due to the convenience, not having considered the safety issues.
Also, I didn't realize how relatively easy lang din pala ikabit yung internal sensors.
Of course, you might have to do it via a tire shop to properly fit them, albeit with minimal cost I guess.
Found one at Lazada na mas mahal lang ng kaunti sa mga external TPMS at Android TV based na siya.

UPDATE: Medyo nag-stabilize na yung mga sensors. Still yung fronts, one is off by 2psi at yung isa ay by 2.5psi naman.

Maybe not a good idea. Ang init nung unit which may not bode well for the batteries and the display.
Di rin naman gaanong nag-charge in that 4 hours or so na exposed directly sa sunlight.

Meron akong ganyan gagamitin ko nga sana as rubber feet nung base unit.
Kaso yung adhesive natuyo na yata kaya ayaw na dumikit.
I was thinking sana of using silicone sealant to build up around the valve stem.
