March 7th, 2014 09:51 AM #61rotors refaced? i don't know.... the usual problems are the elevated ridges running the inner and outer circumferences of the rotor. baka sumabit ang bagong brake pads... but kung hindi naman sasabit, ay hindi na kailangang i-reface.
i don't have the time to look for it right now, but someone here mentioned in his input a week or so back, that he got his rotors re-faced for less than 500 kesos for the pair.
i have been driving for decades now, and i have had my brake friction pads replaced many times. i just get whatever brand (not branded, not OEM, not casa) the mechanic gets from the store. and i do not recall whether any particular brand stood out (good or bad). my feeling is, if you are not into extremes of driving, "generic" pads will do fine..Last edited by dr. d; March 7th, 2014 at 10:02 AM.

a little ot... how much labor cost do they normally charge you for brakes check-up and brake pads replacement? including change oil and fuel filter.

Kasi po wala pa naman 8 months since last pinalitan. Thanks po

the thickness of the backing plate for the pads usually tells you to change the pads when the friction material is equal to or less than the thickness of the backing plate. it can buy you a few more miles until the next opportuned time and budget allows. if you wait until the warning tab makes that faint scraping noise, your brake efficiency may have dropped drastically since it will be prone to overheating causing brake fade.
It's looking a lot like a certain cruiser with that color scheme.
