There is this weird 'tok' sound I hear randomly whenever I'm driving. Somedays wala naman ang sound na yan. On other days naman, it suddenly comes out. Like when I'm turning, or stepping on the brakes/clutch. Any ideas what the problem is? Am driving a 4d56 Adventure. Thanks!

kidding aside, it could come from your brake pads or those thin metal sheets they put between the pistons and the pads. stepping on the clutch hindi lang pala brakes...hmmm better have a bolt tightening session with your casa or better yet in a servitek service station which offers one. at least kita mo yun procedure.

currently, parehong pareho tayo ng problema. na diagnosed ng servitek na kailangan kong mag palit ng free load bushing ng rack and pinion. may nabibiling repair kit ng rack and pinion kaya lang wala pa akong time pa repair ito. check mo rin baka pareho tayo ng source ng problem.

    Afrasay,

Siraulo! LOLZ! 7.1 yata yan lolz!

Magkano ang bolt tightening service ng Servitek?

    SunTzu,

Yep, seems like yung problem eh is in the Steering Area. Kasi dati, whenever I go past a hump, may tok na sound, so the casa had a part of it changed (warranty pa naman). Ayan nawala for a while.

Now, what I did kanina was I put some Singer Oil on the Steering Joints. Ayan so far, wala pang tok sound haha!

Hmm... will check out yung repair kit for that... thanks a lot!

It might be your bushings, tire rod ends, centerlink, or wheel bearing.

Thanks guys for your inputs... papatingin ko ang suspension ko this week. Kakainis talaga ang sound na yan grrrrr!

SunTzu, how were they able to diagnose na yung rack and pinion ang sira?

ung mechanic sumuot sa ilalim then another mechanic, ginalaw galaw ang manilbela (from slow pace to hard and fast pace)..lumabas ang tunog toktoktok then found out na don galing. then chineck pa nila ulit ung likod ng steering column may tagas na rin so pinapalitan ko na lahat...akala nga namin sa suspension na e hindi pala. dapat nga pala may load ang front tires meaning nakababa at hindi naka jack. :speechles

I would suggest you to try a test bed facility that's free for testing your vehicle. You don't have to let them work on it. johnqpublic318 could give you some advice on how to deal with it.

Makikita mo lahat ng sira sa pang ilalim, pati brakes and shocks damay na rin sa testing.
