Metal to metal sound on my 2009 Civic rear wheel

Hi, I need help with my 2009 civic.. last night I experience a metal to metal sound at the back of my car, something like a tin can got stucked on my wheel.. Parang nasabit na lata. Then morning, nag try kami na alugin then we got the same sound, may natunog talaga na parang lata. The disk brake has no damage, brakes are working fine, doesn't get the sound when doing brakes.

May nagsabi po na bushing or bearing? Any idea po what part is giving the issue? Thank you po sa makakatulong.

anyways, i really have no idea.
either the bearing or the brake. or maybe even a furrin object, like a lata!
but if you say the brake is fine, that leaves the bearing, or the furrin object. although, bearing failure is usually described as a gravel-y sound when the wheel turns. and kung brake naman, the quality of the sound usually changes when the brakes are applied.
just bring it to the shop, po.
the issue should be clearly evident when the mekaniko opens it up.
pretty much straightforward naman yan.
and i do not envision a very expensive endeavor, naman.

Does it correlate with speed? Road condition? Having or not having passengers and/or cargo in the rear?

Have you jacked it up and taken off the wheel and do a thorough inspection... outer and inner side of the hub/rotor?

When were the rear brake pads last replaced? It could be an extremely worn-out brake pad that has broken free from its retainer. It could also be a stuck caliper piston.

It could also be the wheel bearings giving out. Especially if the vehicle went through deep flood.... water can ingress the wheel bearing seals and basically trash the grease.

I've seen (heard) something similar before after a brake job. It turned out to be the brake lines coming loose from their retaining clips and rubbing against something, possibly the wheel rim.

My guess's

- Fallen shock absorber hitting the coil spring
- worn exhaust manifold/ muffler baffle
- disk brake cover
- or somebody dropped or left a tool hanging

A quick trip to the lifter should be able to see the underchassis problem

like the others, it sounds like a loose mounting bolt or degraded rubber bushing that has fallen off.
if you are not averse to lying down under your car and getting your back / shirt, hands and hair dirtied,
you can lie down under the car and hand-tighten or wretch-tighten the loose culprit.
then you can drive leisurely over to the talyer for a good look-see, for other issues.
if it's a degraded bushing, it probably won't get much worse along the way.
